We were amazed and delighted with Bob's responsiveness. He called back immediately, then reconfirmed the appointment time a couple of times over the next 2 days. He and his 2 sons arrived right on time, and had the whole thing re-attached and working in the course of a few minutes for a nominal fee. They are very busy with chimney work during the winter, but will return for duct cleaning in the warm weather. We are very happy to recommend them.

I got a chimney "inspection" from another company that cold called me. They said I'd need a new chimney liner. Good thing I took it with a grain of salt. I called three other chimney places seeking a second opinion. Bob Hughes was the most professional and responsive. They were also recommended by two people in the neighborhood group on Facebook. Mr. Hughes showed up with his nephew on time, they got up on the roof, took a look in the basement, and told me my chimney was fine. They saved me $4,500 and didn't even charge for coming out. I will absolutely call them again.

Mr. Hughes was professional in all regards: He returned calls, he explained the job in detail, he arrived on time, he showed materials being used, his crew was efficient and neat, they cleaned the site when finished, he provided explanation and together we examined the job when completed.

I bought the house on May 1, 2017, and moved in on May 2nd. Bob and I agreed on May 2 for the work to be done, or maybe the 3rd. He and his son came and did the work and even got rid of some trash left in the basement without me even asking, very nice. I will definitely hire him again. When we had our heating system serviced, the tech noted that soot in the chimney was impeding its efficiency. I called Bob Hughes, left a message, and he got back to me later that day. It turned out he was working in the area the next day; so he added us to his schedule. The next morning he called to ask if it was okay to come about an hour early. It was. They came right over, cleaned the chimney, and demonstrated that it was now drafting well. They were clean, efficient, thorough, and friendly.

Bob and his son parked their van out front and ran a large vacuum hose from the truck to the fireplace inside. They laid down cloth in the living room to protect the flooring and ran brushes up the the chimney from the inside and inspected the smoke chamber. Bob provided recommendations on how to warm the chimney before lighting a fire and how to prevent smoke from entering the house when a fire dies down. Next they ran the hose into the basement to the heater flue clean-out. The son climbed a ladder to clean the heater flue from the roof, and afterwards installed two new stainless steel chimney caps. He also provided before/after pictures of the chimney and the roof. Both were very friendly. I am extremely pleased with the prompt service and professionalism. No mess was left behind and they were happy to answer all of my questions.

My chimney had not been inspected or serviced in 20 years. During a plumbing repair of my heater I was informed that my chimney liner might need to be replaced and that I should contact someone. I called a roofing company , but they couldn't fit me into their schedule until early spring and they never called me back with an actual estimate. I called Bob and he came out and gave me an estimate on the spot. The job was scheduled within a week and he and his sons arrived on time and stayed focused on addressing the issues. The job was completed within 2 hours and I am satisfied with their work.
