John and Naturescapes did an awesome job at our home. He reworked existing spaces that were at our home when we purchased it and had been neglected for sometime. He also created new spaces for us. He placed native plants that would require minimal care, yet make our yard and home a place for our family to enjoy spending quality time together.

John and the crew did an amazing job with my space. The previous owners' landscaping was boring, one-dimensional and simply a mess, and although I had no idea what I wanted, John took the time to ask a lot of questions, show lots of pictures, and put in place the perfect no-hassle, beautiful trees and plants that now make my home look special all the way from the street. I couldn't have asked for more!

John and his team did a wonderful job and they definitely exceeded expectations. John gave me a comprehensive proposal for the project and transformed our 20 year old uninspired, overgrown foundation beds. In addition, he added steps / walkway to access the back yard. I absolutely recommend Naturescapes!

I had a couple of landscapers provide estimates. John easily understood what I wanted to do, his price was very competitive, and his estimate was simple and straight forward. John took the time to understand what I was looking for - making sure the color pallet was right, along with the cut and placement. The crew was very professional and did a great job with the installation. I would definitely use them again.

This is our second landscape installation at our current house with John Fridy of Naturescapes.  He is very artistic and also knowledgeable about growing challenges in this area (deer, shade, etc.)  The style is truly natural but very layered and lush.  He is very timely, reliable and professional and has a great crew.  You get what you pay for-- great results and plants that thrive and give pleasure for years.

I have been using them for the last 15 years. They are great. I love them. The price really varies if we are having landscaping done then it can be thousands of dollars. If we are just having maintenance work done then it is could be hundredth of dollars. We have just been using them for so long. It just really varies on what service we need at the time. We definitely highly recommend them. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

Place looked great when they finished. But they way overplanted. After just a few months many of the plantings had to be dug up, with no place else to put them. Had to give away or compost many plants. The landscape design was and is VERY difficult to maintain. Had to end up getting another landscaper in to fix some of the problems. Would never recommend this company, especially to a novice gardener. I just saw provider’s response to my initial review, dated 5/19/2012, and would like to update. Provider is correct about the project dates - in 2006 and 2007 - but not about the cost. First project in 2006 was for back of property and invoices totaled $21,635. Second project in 2007 was for front and side of property and Invoices totaled $15,739. Grand total for both projects was $37,374. My negative evaluation concerned the 2nd project, and the comments still stand. The gardens were over planted, the side slope was made so steep it could not be maintained without standing on neighbors retaining wall, and foundation plantings in the front outgrew their space. A beautiful redbud finally had to be cut down as it was growing into and overpowering the house. I HAD contacted the provider who offered some possible remedies but at additional cost to me. I realize this work was done several years ago, but I felt further explanation was needed. This provider’s garden designs are beautiful when installed, but in my case at least, they resulted in lost plantings and gardens that were difficult to maintain.

We spoke with a number of landscapers before deciding on Naturescapes, and initially I had hoped to get drawings of the landscape design. But after speaking with John Fridy several times and going over his proposals, and recommendations for plantings and design, we were satisfied that he would provide a design and plantings that would really meet our needs and wants. In this area deer can be terrible for your yard and we wanted plants and shrubs that would be unattractive to deer, and we also did not want to have to do extensive trimming and maintenance ourselves afterwards. Naturescapes focuses on natural designs, and John's recommendations have been excellent. I think the real proof of how much value a landscaper can add to a property is not what you see initially when the landscaper leaves, but after a year or two, how well are the plants and shrubs doing and have they adapted well to your home and yard. From our perspective this is where Naturescapes's true value can be seen, because after three years, we are delighted with our yard and gardens, and they are a daily source of enjoyment to us.

Naturescapes is extremely environmentally friendly and and quot;greenand quot; and, as such, you, your kids and your pets will be fine with what they use as either fertilizers and herbacides. They also have been very good working with us in terms of controlling water run-off, and their designs and work certainly contribute to our community as a result.

From the very first phone call to John we laughed and said we were simpatico! As he seemed to get me and what I was trying to impart on him about my taste and what I was looking for. I was fed up with my backyard looking this way and trying to find someone to listen to me. I needed someone who was creative enough to go over and above the norm and give me different. With John you get different and original. He came to my house looked at the yard and right away said , this will be fun! None of the other people said that! They said wall! I knew right then and there he was the guy for me. We went in and started to talk about what I wanted and we made an appointment for the next week, John would then show me what he had come up with. He left or I thought he did but he was out back of my house for another hour sketching.
The next appointment, he came with a folder chock full of pictures of what he was going to do to my backyard. I was so impressed, that I asked him to come up with something for the front of my house!
From start to finish the workers were friendly, neat, polite and early for the job! It was finished in a timely manner and I couldn't be more pleased with this company and John Fridy. I would hire him again in a second!

They do a great job and we like their professionalism. They’re on time and do what they promise. It’s the same employees that are here all the time who are professional and courteous. They know exactly what they are doing. They are pricey and we’ve had some bad experiences with their pricing, but we continue to go back to them because we get what we pay for - they are high but worth every penny. We would continue to use them in the future.

The work was done quickly and professionally. When it was complete my wife and I were very pleased everything promised was delivered. After the fact now that we are a year removed problems have come up. Vines that were to be removed are returning through the ground cover and some of the new hardscape has cracked and broken into pieces.

Naturescapes was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. The Landscape Designer took time to develop a comprehensive, natural landscaping plan for our property. His team came to work on the dates promised, worked hard, and made sure that the work performed matched the work plan. The Landscape Designer was on site for all of the landscaping work.
