Auto Body Work
Our family has 6 vehicles among us, so auto body repair is inevitable. This is the 4th time I have used Ed Hine Body Repair. I find his prices are low and is quality is very good. He doesn't cut corners or use the cheapest parts available. He will discuss options to provide the best quality service at the lowest cost. He checked in with me twice on this last repair to offer options and allow me to decide what I wanted done, providing different options at different costs. The car was finished when promised and at the price quoted. The staff is very responsive and quite personable. I highly recommend Ed Hine Body Repair.

Auto Body Work
I had Mr. Hine out to look at my horse trailer in May of 2012. He indicated he could do the job for $1500.00 (repaint the roof white and body blue, repair rusted-through platform on one side; sand as needed). I had to postpone the work until May of 2013; he honored the quote from 2012. He indicated it would take approximately two weeks but ended up being four weeks. I was not in dire need of the trailer but did want to have it completed in a reasonable amount of time so the length of time was a little more than I anticipated. I also decided to have the inside of the tack room re-painted as well which was an additional $250; seemed reasonable.
When I went to pick up the trailer I was initially pleased with the work but upon closer inspection there were a few areas that needed to be fixed. There was a curved scratch on the one side of the trailer that was not there prior to it being repainted. The back door of the trailer also had and quot;spray marksand quot; where you could see the and quot;sweepsand quot; of the spray gun with varying levels of paint coverage. There was also a piece under the back door of the trailer that was completely missed. Mr. Hine was happy to correct these items. I also had to bring the trailer back for these repairs so that added a little more inconvenience for me but not a big deal.
I had obtained a verbal quote (site un-seen) from another company for approximately $3000-$4000 and a written quote from another company for $3800. These quotes included sandblasting which I don't think Hine's included. To my knowledge it was and quot;spot-sandedand quot; by hand and not true sand-blasting. Given the age of my trailer (25 years old) I didn't want to spend nearly $4000 so I opted for the cheaper estimate.
Overall, for the price, it was a decent job. He did a great job on a piece of metal that needed to be replaced. However, as I like things to be done right, there are a few areas that I'm not quite pleased with (paint on trim, spray marks inside of tack room like there was on the back door, etc.) but I now have trailer that looks good. I will be interested to see how the paint job holds up over the next few years.
July 2013 - Very disappointed to see that paint is already beginning to flake on the side slats of the trailer. It does not appear that any sanding was done in this area so old, flaking paint was simply painted over.
