Hired Troy to do 2 porch roofs & a dormer for 3k.He kept assuring my wife & i that it would be done within a week.Paid him for 50% of the job up-front ($1,500).After two weeks of excuses he showed up for 1/2 an afternoon.He tore the shingles off , replaced the wood on a portion of the roof...and hasn't been back since.It's been 2 weeks with no shingles, no materials & no other work done. This guy had every excuse in the book.We paid him $1500 on June 16.He was supposed to start the roof June 18th.After not hearing from him for the whole weekend, I called & he claimed he had hurt his back.He assured us, that it would be done the following weekend.The next weekend came & went ...no call, no work, no materials.I called Monday evening & no answer.That night at 12:30am (Tues)he called my wife to say he was in Arkansas with a sick brother.He assured her that the roof would get done within a week. That following Friday was the only time work was done & only the teardown of the 1 porch roof shingles.He then decided to take the entire 4th July weekend off & assured us the work would resume Tuesday the 5th.Late tuesday afternoon my wife , once again called to find out when the shingles would added.He claimed he was in traffic with our 30yr arch. shingles on the truck.Needless to say...never showed up.I called him & gave him an ultimatum. Finish the front porch by the end of the next weekend & we would find someone else to do the other work.He agreed ...but, guess what....yep...never showed. I called him Saturday evening & warned him if the work was not done by Monday evening I was going to the police.He assured my wife & i that he would send 2 laborers to complete the roof Monday, that he wouldn't be there.Then you guessed it, no work Monday, he pushed it to Tues, no work Tues. This morning (Wed) I filed charges @ the police station.I still don't have any shingles & now i have to pay someone reliable to finish the job.
