Let me start by saying our cat, Sami, had been in and out of vets for the past 11 days before we brought her into Perkiomen Animal Hospital. In the beginning, 7/19, my (now OLD) regular vet diagnosed her with a UTI and said she was dehydrated. She gave her fluids under the skin and an antibiotic to give her daily. The next day my husband and I came home from work to a silent house, something that never happens as she is always greeting anyone at the door with her attention meows, and found her hiding under a bed looking very, very sickly. She was lethargic, wouldn’t lift her head and was nearly unresponsive. Extremely worried, I took her to an ER vet (unfortunately most vets, including Perkiomen Animal Hospital, aren’t open 24 hours) and this was my only option. After that visit she spent nearly every day either visiting our (OLD) regular vet or being admitted to the vet (she spend 4 days there). The answers my (OLD) regular vet was giving me were beginning to sound ridiculous. On Friday (7/29) I came home and Sami was still no better and the patch of skin in her armpit area that I had noticed the night I pick her up from the vet stay wasn’t getting better as I was told it would when I called that night and multiple times during the week. I was told it was from the fluid and injections but it would go away. It hadn’t and I had an awful feeling and knew we needed a THIRD! opinion. This is where Perkiomen Animal Hospital comes in. I called them at 5:30 on Friday evening and the got us right in! By 6:00 my husband and I with Sami were in with a very helpful vet tech and then Dr. Maresca came in. She was amazing. Our baby has always been terrified of vets (tho she loves people) so Dr. Maresca took the time to talk to her and pet her and make her feel comfortable. She was even able to carry Sami in the back run tests, administer fluids and shots and do x-rays AND carry her back to us in her arms. She has a real way with animals and seeing how terrified our baby usually is and how much Dr. Maresca had kept her calm through everything was very touching and impressive. When it came to interaction with us she was equally amazing. Throughout the entire appointment she was very professional yet friendly, caring, and informative. She was honest with all information that was discovered (and none of it good) yet was extremely sensitive while maintaining her professionalism. I cannot say a single less than perfect thing about Dr. Maresa (the entire staff we encountered was also great!!!). It is now Monday morning and the transformation that Sami has made from Friday night when she was near death (thanks to very poor care by our old vet Milford Veterinary Clinic in Quakertown) to now is incredible! She is eating and drinking on her own instead of being syringe fed (which she hadn’t done since this all began), no longer lethargic, awake more often, much less weak, has energy and is much more vocal (she’s generally a chatter box with lots to say haha). We are on our way to having our baby back and that is entirely thanks to Dr. Maresca. She saved our baby’s life and we will be forever grateful! We have found our new forever vet and we highly recommend her to ANYONE!

This place is the best. They operated and healed my dog when other vets would not do it. They care about the animals that come through those doors. Dr. Pulice is a great vet and a man of his word. The whole staff is quite awesome.

They always provided excellent service, I love them. I have been using them for over 15 years and they have just treated my dogs very well. They are very caring and compassionate people all the way from the secretaries to the technicians and veterinarians.

I've been using Perkiomen Animal Hospital for approximately 8 years now. On the whole, I have had a great experience with them, however there are some caveats. There is only one of the four vets there that I will take my dogs to. One vet I have had no experience with, but the other two have not impressed me. One appeared to be almost nervous around my dog. Granted, she is 90lbs, but she is extremely friendly, and my dog was confused by her hesitation. The other vet didn't listen to my concerns/comments about my dog. When my other dog got sick, Dr Makem was the vet who really worked with us to diagnose her finally with Addisons Disease. It was a long few weeks, trying to figure out what was wrong with almost daily visits for fluids. Once we learned what was wrong and started treatment, she really listened to me and some of the research I had done, and was willing to try some new methods once I brought her documentation about it. The one time I saw one of the other vets he not only completely disregarded everything we had been doing, he authorized medication at a dose significantly higher than what we had been working with, and when it wasn't needed. I would recommend Dr Makem to anyone in this area. As for the hospital as a whole, their prices are extremely reasonable, the office staff is friendly, the vet techs have always been very nice and capable with my dogs, and if I need to get my dogs in that day for a medical concern, they have always been able to accommodate me.
