Description of Work: We had a very large old oak tree that split in half during a bad storm in May 2011. The half that came down landed on the road making it impassable. They came to check it out and returned the following day which was a Sunday. They don't work on Sundays, but because they were concerned the half still standing would fall on our home, they worked that Sunday. The price included the portion of the tree that fell, the portion that didn't fall, and the grinding up of the massive stump. The height of our tree could not entirely be taken down by just using their truck. They had to do the climbing for the highest point of the tree to get it all down. In the past prior to the tree coming down, we had another tree service just trim this tree, and their cost was $600 to just trim it. We felt the $1000 was more than reasonable for the work the Heck Brothers did.

Description of Work: We had a large, tall pin oak tree in our front yard which split in half during the storms and tornado watch on Thursday 5/26. Part of the tree came down onto the road (thankfully missing homes and vehicles), and the other half was leaning toward our home and our neighbor's home. We phoned Heck Brothers on Friday based on a few referrals from others. They came to look at the tree Saturday evening after working all day. Jason was concerned about the tree leaning toward the homes as were we. He doesn't usually work on Sundays, but wanted to get it down if it was okay with us. He showed up 8 am Sunday morning and they went to work. They definitely had their work cut out for them. It was like 2 trees in one. They worked until approximately 2:45 pm with only a couple short breaks. Considering how much we paid to just have the tree trimmed out throught the last 14 years, I thought their price was a great deal. It included the grinding of the base and roots. For now the base and roots are still there; they will be back to do that within a couple of weeks. They were up front about that because they had alot of calls from other people who needed them. We were fine with that because the tree was down. The base and roots can wait. They do great work! I feel like we didn't pay them enough after watching what they went through to get that tree down. I never say that!! I can be pretty picky. I will miss my old oak tree though. I definitely recommend them.
