It did not go well. They didn't fix what they said they fixed. It still leaked. They stuck to the $40 mark. I called another company out that did fix it. Also, the main drain of my house was backing up and it was causing my sink in my kitchen to back up and stuff. They got some acid and poured it down the sink, but it didn't correct the overall problem. They didn't diagnose the problem. I just had someone come out later that week and actually clear the main drain of my house out.

There was some uncertainty about the necessity of contacting the water supply company to turn off the water supply coming into the house prior to Everett's arrival to fix the leak in the water inlet valve.  Everett volunteered to come out too my house to look at the leak without charge to see if the water supply authority needed to be contacted prior to fixing the leak.  It turned out that the outside water supply did not need to be shut off and Everett fixed the problem right away on their first visit.  They also fixed a leaky bathroom faucet.

This was an Angie's List Big Deal - $39 for 1 hour of plumbing services.  My original request to the service provider was to re-seat two toilets.
I'd recently suffered a sewage backup in my basement.  The plumbing contractor sent by my insurance company kept me out of my house for a week, then failed to re-install the basement toilet they'd taken apart while trying to make the repair to the main.  I had no interest in re-calling the insurance contractor.
The Angie's List plumber (Everett Plumbing & Heating Inc) was prompt and friendly.  He went to work straight away.  He showed me that because the basement toilet tank had been without water, the rubber flush valve and seals had begun to crumble and would have to be replaced.
He inspected the second toilet and determined it did not have to be re-seated.  I mentioned to him that I had a washer and dryer installation queued up, and he quickly checked the hot and cold water valves to insure they were not seized up (they hadn't been touched in probably a decade).
I paid a little more for the visit because of the extra parts and about 15 more minutes of labor, but overall, I was very satisfied with the service call.

After two months of head scratching, and a crazy bill of over $900,  Everett decided to dig down through our patio pavers, close to the foundation of the house, and place a vertical vent pipe coming up from the pipe that drains away to the sewer.  A year later we noticed that mold was growing on a picture frame in our finished basement, in the location of where they "fixed" the situation.  We called them back immediately and their response was to clean our gutters.  Six years later we found that the mold problem was bigger than we realized and went to remediate the mold, which cost over $3,000. We dug down to see the base of the pipe Everett installed six years ago, to find the vertical (vent) pipe just sitting on the horizontal (draining) pipe.  There was NO caulk or sealant, NO threading, NOTHING.  They did NOTHING but set one pipe perpendicular on the other.  We called them immediately and asked them to come a look at the pipe and what we found.  They would not come out that day, because it was 2 o'clock on a Friday.  They finally came out in the middle of the following week.  By that point we had another plumber come to see what was going on and seal the two pipes. They were witnesses and could not believe the negligent work.  Koren Plumbing was the company that fixed it.  ServePro of Western Lehigh Valley, who remediated the mold, also saw the shoddy work.  Also, Tim Gaugler of Gaugler Contracting was there to do some other work for us.  He was also a witness.  Gaugler and Koren both have very low opinions of Everett.  Other plumbers and contractors who I have consulted have very, very low opinions.  Calling them drunks.
When Everett arrived that mid week and saw that it was fixed they claimed it was their work, that was done years ago.  And told me I was crazy.  I showed them the photos I took of how I found the pipe and I encouraged them to call Koren Plumbing and confirm with them they did the fix.  They refused, and one Everett brother stormed out of the house.  The other Everett brother stood there and told me there is nothing that can be done.
Unfortunately it took me 6 years to find this negligent work.  But that goes to show their work is a ticking time bomb.  As a homeowner how is one supposed to know to dig and check out work that was done.  I should have dug down when I noticed the mold originally.
In the end, Koren Plumbings fix was more involved due to additional negligent work at the base of the foundation where the pipe was coming out.  In the end that plumbing fix was over $1,200.  I asked Everett to cover just the mold remediation since they caused it.  They refused and said the pipe was fixed.  And of coarse, there was a 6 year lapse.
I have family members who have experienced other issues with Everett.  As well as a friend.  I honestly don't know who else uses them.  Perhaps I was one of the few that remained loyal after Everett senior passed.  But the values, work and ethics died with the founder of the company.  Their work is a ticking time bomb!!!

The work was done through a home warranty company. I paid a $60 deductible, not sure what the job fully cost.
After they found the leak they had to get an OK to do the work from the warranty company and bring back a carpenter to cut open the wall.

It took 2 weeks to coordinate with the carpenters schedule. I heard nothing back from the plumber during this time till I called. THis left me to wonder if the repair was covered and if they were coming back or not. While it was a very small leak and not a rush, the office should have called to give me an update within a few days after their first visit.

The hole was cut squarely so it would be easy for me to patch when the work was done. The home warranty company would not pay to repair the wall.

The plumbers were friendly and professional. They explained what they found and what would be needed to fix it They cleaned up when done and removed the cut out drywall right away from the house as it had some mold from the leak. The plumbers and carpenter did a professional job,

I explained what I had done. She said they were busy, and that she would get back to me. They did. They let me know they had a few people working right up the street, would be here in 10 minutes. I asked her about what it would cost. She said about $100 to $125. Meanwhile I ran to the store and left everything disconnected under the sink. They came upstairs, put an electric snake in, opened the drain, and left. I have a double trap drain and it seemed as though they couldn’t put it back together. I got the bill for $202. I called back, registered a complaint. The labor charge was $51 per hour for each guy. She called back after she talked to them, mentioned she gave me a break because she only charged ¾ of an hour. My wife said it took them about 20-30 minutes.
