Flanick Electric

I called Flanick Electric (623 6th St, Oakmont, PA 15139) on March 11, 2013 and left a message giving my name, phone number and a brief description of my problem; which was ceiling fan stopped working. Joe called back very quickly, probably less than two hours and we set up a date (March 18, 2013 after lunch) for him to come out and check out the ceiling fan. We had a very good conversation, Joe listed some possible things that could have happened. I did tell him that although the fan was installed 5 or 6 years ago, the total running time could not be more that 30 - 50 hours, the fan is more for decoration than for actually moving air. I asked Joe to call when he was on his way in case I was walking the dogs or doing other tasks near the house so I could get back home. After our initial conversation I felt very good about Flanick Electric, seemed to be very professional. Unfortunately my feelings turned out to be wrong. Joe never came out on the date we set up for the repairs. I called him that afternoon and left a message, but to date, I have not heard from him. It's possible that my job was too small for Flanick Electric to bother with, or ????????????? I waited to write this review thinking that maybe a family emergency prevented Joe from coming out or calling me back, but it has been 3 days and any responsible person would have called by now. Sorry to be negative about Flanick Electric, but it is what it is.

Flanick Electric was recommended to me by my kitchen contractor. Mr. Flanick and I set up a tentative meeting time for a few days after our initial phone conversation. He did not contact me or show up on the planned day. I called him back several days later. He said he had "not forgotten about me" and asked if he could call me back later that day to choose a meeting time. He called me back 2 or 3 days later by which point I had moved on and found another electrician.

I had bought a hot tub, which made our electricity go out. I unplugged the hot tub, went to a circuit breaker panel, and tried to reset it, but every time I did, it immediately went off again. Flanick figured out that there was a short circuit, which is why the circuit breaker couldn't be reset, but that actually belonged to a no longer used circuit that had nothing to do with the hot tub. He found a blown fuse in a subpanel and replaced it, which restored the electricity. Then he ran a new line and installed a new outlet on the outside of the house just for the hot tub. Finally he removed the no longer used circuit that had the short. He came very promptly when I called him, and finished in a few hours. His prices were very reasonable, and his work was very professional.
