Great experience! They were very knowledgable about the types of trees that needed cut back, and explained what they would be doing to keep everything as healthy as possible. We even asked them to leave us a few pieces for firewood and they cut it up and stacked it in place. Very kind and quick turnaround. We'll use them again in the future for sure!

The experience was great! No problems from start to finish. The 4 guys were professional and pleasant. Very hardworking. The price was reasonable and they got a tough job done.

This is not the company to go with if you have specific ideas about how you want your trees trimmed. There is poor listening skills, and poor communication. I contacted Sideline Trees thru Angie’s list saying I wanted branches trimmed back from wires, street and house. A bid was left in my box without anyone talking to me. I called and requested the estimator come back to show him where I wanted the trimming done. The day of the trim a man knocked on my door and confirmed that they were to leave the lower branches for privacy. I was glad he confirmed that as that is the whole reason I have been growing these trees for over 20 years. I closed the drapes to keep my dogs from barking. When I looked again all the lower branches were completely removed well above the line of sight. These were healthy branches. There is nothing between my house and my busy street. I am sick. When I emailed my dissatisfaction, I received no response. I had to call and specifically ask someone to come back out. Ultimately, they lowered my bill $200. There’s nothing that can be done, of course. Sideline Trees had someone call me everyday to see if I wanted to hire them. They called me the day after I received my bill in the mail, and everyday until I told them I had paid it on line. But the actual communication about the work, and the follow up costumer service does not seem to be as much of a priority. I was not going to write a bad review but I could not believe they were calling me immediately for payment. So disrespectful.

One of the best companies I have ever worked with. They responded to my request timely, estimate was below what I thought. They came with all if their insurance documentation. When I accepted their quote they gave a date and they confirmed a few days before and arrived on the date. Within a few hours a very tall but ugly white pine was gone. Despite the fact that a shed was only a few feet away, they were technically so perfect that no branches hit the shed or the house. They are the most professional companies I have ever worked with.

We have had Sidelines on two occasions to remove trees and brush from a hillside on our property. The gentleman who came to give the estimate made a thorough examination of the job site, clear identification of what had to be done, and gave an immediate and reasonable quote with a discount for accepting the proposal at that time. When the crew came, they approached the two jobs safely and efficiently, taking care not to damage neighboring fencing which was close to one of the trees. They cleaned up all of the debris including a massive amount of vines that were attached to the trees. The job was done exactly as we had hoped, We recommend them highly.

Went well. The Sidelines landscape guy, Alex, did the job all by himself as his worker wasn’t able to report to work that day. Also the estimate Alex had given me for the work was very reasonable. Would definitely hire again.

The crew showed up 10 minutes early, promptly got to work and performed the job seamlessly. Would definitely recommend using them. They checked with me before the job was complete, to ensure we got what we wanted trimmed. Very professional.

They were great. Called them on a Monday and the job was completed on Saturday. Sales rep and scheduling were professional and responsive. Workers were on time (actually early), obviously experienced and did a professional job. Clean up was excellent. I highly recommend Sidelines and will definitely call them again.

We live in Squirrel Hill and had to unfortunately remove a very old and extremely large tree due to all of the issues its roots were causing with our sidewalks, pipes, stone wall, etc.  I received many quotes and Sidelines was by far the least expensive.  I realize that sometimes you get what you pay for, and many of the competitors said the same thing to me- to try to get me not to use Sidelines...but I am so happy that I did!  They by far exceeded my expectations and saved me HUGE dollars over what the others were asking for.  (I received bids of 6k, 7.5K, 8K)

Chris was extremely responsive to my phone calls and questions and was very accommodating to our scheduling needs.  I never went more than a few hours without a return phone call.

The day of the removal, the crew showed up promptly and got to work.  The job was done safely and with 100% satisfaction.They were all very nice, professional and answered my questions and helped me pile up some of the wood that we were saving from the tree. 

During the process, the hydraulic line broke on the stump grinder- so the crew cleaned up everything and gave me an update on when they would fix the machine and be back.  They stayed true to their word and were back 2 days later and completed the job.

It looks amazing- I could not have asked for better work.  The tree itself was a hard enough job, but the way they were able to truly level and grind the stump is outstanding.

I would highly recommend Sidelines to anyone needing any sort of tree service.  As I experienced- they can certainly handle the largest of jobs.

Sidelines provided excellent service. They provided a free quote, were able to schedule the work on short notice for the date I selected, and were prompt in returning phone calls/getting in touch. On the day of the work, the crew arrived on time, were courteous, and most importantly got the job done safely without injury or damage to my property. To top it all off, they offered by far the lowest price among several quotes I received for the job.

Chris of Sideline Tree Service was very professional.  Crew came out and cleaned up all debris very well.  Price was competitive.  Service was performed punctually.  I recommend people to inquire with Sideline Tree Service for tree removal services.

Did not return several phone calls or a mailed request to contact me. Because he did remove a large tree in my backyard I felt that I owed him something for that and researched what a similar sized tree would cost to take down and remove. I paid them $1,000. I received a phone call thanking me for the payment and asking why I was dissatisfied enough to withhold payment for the balance of the estimate.  Stated the reasons, asked that he come back out and meet with me so that I could show him what was not done and damage that was done.  Never heard from him again but several weeks later received a collection letter that if the balance was not paid in full he would file charges.

They were very professional. They returned calls promptly and came to do the job when they said they would. They pruned 2 trees for us that were close to our house. They did exactly what we asked them to do. After the trees were pruned they cleaned up any sticks, branches, leaves, etc.

I would definitely use their services again if needed.

One of the trees was on a neighbor's property.  Sidelines helped me by making many calls and e-mails to him until he was totally fine with the removal which was on his property.  The team was friendly and polite and very capable.  It was a dangerous removal as the tree was rotted out but they cut it down in a professional and careful manner.  I can't say enough about this company.  I have used them several times in the past to trim, remove trees, grind out roots etc.  They always do an excellent job!  They get my highest rating!  Thanks Sidelines!

Requested estimate from a crew working in the neighborhood and I agreed with the price, understanding that the estimate would have to be confirmed by the office and someone would be out to review the project and estimate and schedule the work.  I had to call a few times to get action on the estimate, which was honored over the phone, and get the work scheduled.  Once the 4-man crew showed up, the trees were taken down and logs hauled away in one day (good crew, but different from the one I got the original estimate from).  There was debris that I had to clean up, but it was not much of an issue.  (I only mention this because I was told that when they were done it would look like they hadn't even been there.)
It was about 4 weeks later that a different individual showed up to grind the stumps.  I had requested a call ahead of time so I could be home and move my truck, as I know that chips fly all over when grinding.  I did not get a call beforehand as requested, so I was not home when the grinder showed up.  He got right to work, and managed in the process to throw a bunch of chips all over my truck; fortunately there were no scratches or dents.  Most of the grinding debris was raked into piles covering where the stumps were.  I have not yet been able to remove that debris, so I can't confirm that the stumps were totally ground down (if not, I'll call the company).  My fault that I presumed they would haul that debris away; we did not discuss one way or the other beforehand.
Overall, the crew did good, professional work at what I think was a very good price.  However, it would not surprise me to learn that they just don't have enough office staff, as management/the office seems a bit disorganized when it comes to communicating with customers (at least with me) - no one ever showed up to discuss the project and estimated price; I had to call them to get action on the estimate and to schedule the work; I did not get a call informing me when the grinder would show up, so my truck didn't get moved and debris was thrown on it.  I see communication as part of the "Responsiveness" and "Punctuality" factors, and so rated those as only "Fair".  Overall though, the basic work I needed done was completed by a good crew in a timely manner and at a very good price.  I would not hesitate to use Sidelines Tree Service again, but would request face to face discussion of the project with a decision maker and better ongoing communication.

The workers did a great job, very professional.  They cleaned up like we never knew they had been there.
