Work was completed quickly, perhaps too quickly! The outside walls in both basements were cracked while being drilled and subsequently leaked. Both basements were always dry prior to this work. Contractor returned several times and slapped cement over the areas concerned. One basement was sealed but the other continues to leak every time that we have had more than a light rainfall. Mr. Troxell was asked to bring in a damp-proofing specialist in order to properly repair his damage. This he has failed to do, despite being in the vicinity recently on other business. In both basements the old pipes were cut off and left in place. They were not sealed. The day after the work was completed we had a heavy downpour. Both basements were flooded. In one basement, the new copper pipe spanned a gap of around 8 feet. No supports were put in place and no insulation provided - this was in an unheated area under a porch which was most susceptible to freezing in winter time. A large paving slab on the sidewalk in front of one of the properties was removed fo facilitate the work. The foundation was not properly refilled. The slab was dropped into the hole and broke into several pieces which have since subsided, necessitating future replacement. We have given up asking this contractor to make good his shoddy workmanship.
