Nick's team was always polite, professional and easy to have around the house. This is particularly important as I work from home and can't tolerate a lot of distractions. They made all aspects of the job (and clean-up) easy.
Use them, you will be pleased.
The deck is/was gorgeous. It became a major selling point for the house. The workmanship was excellent and it was finished on time and on budget. So impressed that I have hired Nick for other projects and people who have seen my deck have hired him as well. A+
The job was completed despite huge weather challenges and the crew was always pleasant and professional. I highly recommend Nick and his team.
The initial meeting with Nick went well. When we got the quote, the estimate for installing a combo light and vent in the master bath seemed really high. We asked him for a better itemized estimate and the vent and duct was much more expensive than what i've seen price shopping. He said the cost of the duct to go through the attic is expensive bc he uses a higher quality that is above code. We didn't buy into it and we agreed that we would buy the supplies and he would do the install. The day of the repair he showed up with 2 other gentlemen. Nick and the electrician worked on installing the bathroom vent. He didn't realize the switch I purchased required a third wire bc the vent also had a night light. He apologized for not catching this before installing and left it without all the parts functioning. I asked him to have all the switches functioning and he charged me extra for the work. He said it would take him a couple hours to run another wire and he didn't have any of it on him. After he came back from purchasing the wire it took him 15 minutes to run the wire. That's when I felt scammed for the price. This should have all been included in the work he was supposed to do and I felt like he charged me for something that took little work at all. His work on the leak of the bay window is acceptable at best. I would not recommend him to anyone.
"This scenario is why I usually include materials into my estimated cost or at least recommend the items needed to purchase. Due to the homeowners decision to buy a lighting fixture that the house was not originally wired for in the first place without notifying me of the choice of product and additional work it would entail. When we had realized she had purchased a light that would need an additional wire run we agreed to complete this additional work for a mutually agreed upon and negotiated price. Our initial estimate included installing a light fixture and no where in the scope of work was fishing a new a new wire into the wall to feed an additional separate light within the fixture. We feel our price for the additional wiring was very fair, and would beat most other competitors cost for the same work. The extra wiring may have only taken an hour to complete with two men, but that does not include the extra time or cost spent to run out to the store to purchase additional wire in the middle of the day. Our original quote also included ventilation ducts needed to vent the new exhaust fan through the roof. Our price included materials to install this vent to be code compliant. The much cheaper flexible vent that was purchased by the homeowner to save costs would not have been installed or purchased on my recommendation due to the fact that these cheaper flexible ducts can cause future issues including condensation build up and and leaks down the road. Which is why they are not code compliant for this use in some townships. We take pride in our work and complete each job to last the test of time and will not cut corners in order to save money on materials now that will result in a better final result. The window leak was fixed and tested to confirm, it was noted at the time that the other contractors who had looked at the job had not even located where the water was coming from. After the job was completed, we walked through each project completed and the customer had approved of each item before payment. We guarantee all of our work and hope that each customer is fully satisfied at the end of each job we will go above and beyond to address any concerns our customers may have before we leave each job."
Nick has a great eye for detail and goes above and beyond making sure we understood what was entailed with the rework. Our "little" finishing job took almost two months -- to retro fit structural beams, redo the wiring, get the permits approved and inspected and to do the "cosmetic" finishing we needed to begin with.
"Member, I had told you that I would have no problem to provide and install the special ordered gutter guards you requested. As I had stated before hand the gutter guards were not included in the price, as you should have known considering the price I charged would not have even purchased the gutters and guards alone. I had the guards ordered when I received a voicemail from you saying you had someone else coming to do it. As you already know I strive to make every customer happy, and provide the best possible work. We did a deck and retaining wall/ waterproofing before for you which you were pleased with although i did not receive a report for that work. All work that was billed and paid for was completed. I never have and never will leave a job uncompleted or take money for work not done. I am a very fair and honest person as my track record shows."
While he was here finishing up that job, I asked him to do a few small jobs like fixing the door to the cabinet that holds the garbage can. He went to the store and got new hinges and chains, and the door is now better than ever - with a nice tight fit.
In the meantime, he repaved the entryway fixing some additional areas that we had not initially discussed but which made the job look all that much better. There was no charge for that extra work.
