PenVal Construction

When I first called they did come out and placed a tarp over the damage part. They then became unresponsive. I finally got a hold of them and they explained I got lost in the paperwork. They came back out to take sample shingles. They emailed and let me know they are still trying to match the color. I then had no response again after they took the shingles. I let them know that it didn't need to match and that I just needed them replaced. They have since not responded to my phone calls. This has been back and forth for 8 moths. I even explained if the job was too small to let me know and I will go elsewhere.

Penval was recommended by State Farm at the time and we didn't know who to call so we trusted them.WRONG! We had replacement insurance-which meant-Penval would charge our insurance company with the highest possible amount,then buy the cheapest possible products,installed by the lowest bid contractor.As if that weren't enough-they regularly broke stuff and charged us to fix it. We could never contact them when we needed to,like when the tarps flew off the roof in the middle of January,and got caught in the trees in the front yard.Or when the snow and ice was dropping off the tarps INTO the house...or the house was flooding(again)because nobody at Penval really cares about our house.They think everything is replaceable-it's NOT. Our house was NOT empty.Many of our rooms still had stuff in them-and those guys went through EVERYTHING. If you are lucky you will find someone else to do your construction work or restoration.

They promised a lot of stuff. They went through with the project about a month later. After some time, they started to take back on what they promised. They put the floors wrong and they tried to blame my wife for the flooring which she picked. Finally, the insurance stepped in and made them put it back in. They did an okay job. Midway through the project, they wouldn?t return our phone calls and did nothing for about a month and a half. The final product was nice, but we had to go through a lot of hassles and fights to get it. I wouldn?t recommend them to anyone. The quality of the product was good. There are two owners. So, if you talk to one person, the other one is not aware of it. They didn't show up on time for work and I had to keep calling them.
