We started by looking at cabinetry, and landed on Plain and Fancy. What we loved most was that Pupillo and Sons could design the kitchen, source the cabinetry and provide installation -- all through the same company. Our house is older, and we were taking out a wall, so this was not an easy project. We needed someone we could trust to manage this challenging effort.
Chris and his team made the project totally painless for us, and really went above and beyond to help us design and create a kitchen that blends in seamlessly in our historic home. It was really important to us that the kitchen stayed true to the architecture and design of the house, and Chris offered great advice. It's small home, and so making the most of every inch of storage was a high priority. Again, Chris helped us to make the most of all elements of the design and every detail was cared for perfectly.
We can't say enough about what a pleasure it was to work with Chris and the team from Nicholas Pupillo and Sons. We are so glad we found this firm. Professional, customer focused (times 10) and honesty and integrity bar none.
"I believe it is important for me to respond to this post since our reputation and quality of workmanship is being questioned. My first question would be if the bathroom was done so poorly why did you hire me again about 2 yrs later to do work in your kitchen? I did a bathroom for this customer in 2004. I took a bathroom that was a dated 1950’s style and turned it into a gorgeous master bath with a custom built shower with bench seat, rain shower head, body sprays, and a hand held shower on a slide arm. We also installed a furniture style vanity with a granite top and a custom made mirror with a light and a heavy glass frameless door. Approximately 2 years later we were hired again to do kitchen work. I replaced her sink section with new cabinets, because she wanted an apron sink, and I replaced her Formica top with a granite one. After that job was completed she called me concerning a leak in her ceiling a few months later. I immediately sent a plumber over (at no charge) to check out the issue. The plumber determined after running the shower for awhile and checking all the fixtures that there was no sign of a leak. He believed it was a roof problem and let the customer know this. I never heard back from her until last week when she called and told my assistant that she had a leak in her ceiling. My assistant asked her if she wanted me to call her back, she said no and that she was posting on Angie’s List and giving us a bad review so that we would not get any more work. I called her husband and explained to him that his wife had called and what she had said. He was not aware that she was calling and said that he knew his wife was upset but on the other hand was not mad at me and said that I did a good job. He also explained that they had a leak right around Thanksgiving and she was very upset (understandably); however, she never contacted us again to let us know there was still a problem. She brought in another contractor who said that there was no vinyl water proofing in her shower - this is ridiculous. We have been building custom made shower pans for decades and have not had a problem. I told her husband that we stand behind our work and that I was willing to come over and test their shower. I also told her husband that everyone wants to play the blame game which he understood and says it happens to him in his line of work. At the end of the day we do everything in our power to keep our customers happy but it is not possible if we don’t know that there is a problem! There is a link for article that was recently written about the work we do. I would encourage anyone reading this post to review the article before making a judgment."
Just a side note...when I sold the first house the kitchen and bathroom wow factor went a long way for me to have a quick sale at my asking price.
"I find it hard to believe that if you get a: C for price, A for Quality, D for Responsiveness, D for Punctuality, & B for Professionalism that it adds up to an F for overall. The way I figure it a B would be the correct rating. With that said I do apologize if there were any problems on this job. Sometimes no matter how hard you try to keep everything on schedule and running smooth there are glitches (Murphy’s Law)."
