Since I live alone when my daughter is at school I decided I was spending way to much for twice a week trash service that I did not need. I saw a flyer that was put out near my trash can in the alley from G&C. They only picked up once a week and the price was a lot less than I was paying. I called, started the service and paid for a year in advance as one month would be free. The first year everything went fine. The only thing that is irritating is that if you want to do a periodic cleaning or rake all the leaves one week they have a limit of what they will take. They do have rules and just because I only have a couple bags of trash on a regular basis does not mean they can break the rules for me!!!
If there is a holiday during the week your trash is picked up one day late. So my Friday service became Saturday. Fine. Last week my trash was not picked up. I was away for the weekend and when I went to put trash in my can on Monday is was foul. I called that night and the recording indicated that they opened at 8 AM. I called at quarter after 8 and got a recording. I left a message for Lance, he handled missed pick up. I asked that he return my call knowing people might be on vacation and forget to change voice mail greeting. When I came home for lunch my trash was still there. I called and got the receptionist. I told her that I was missed and left a message that morning and had not heard back nor was my trash picked up. She told me it would be picked up that day. I got home from work before 5 and my trash had not been picked up. I called again and was told that within 24 hours it would be. I explained that I was told it would be today, she told me that they still had trucks out and that the day was not over. Today I went to work, my trash was still there. I came home for lunch and it was still there. I called and the girl put me on hold and when she got back on the phone told me that she left a message on the cell phone of the driver but that my trash would be picked up today. I got home tonight and my trash is still there. I left a message again for Lance and the supervisor at extension 313. At this point I want my money back. I need to find a reliable service. I cleaned out my refrigerator right before the heat wave started last week. I can smell the trash with the lid closed on the can. I am furious. I did not complain when my rates went up over thirty dollars for a year. I paid it.
I am hoping that my phone call will be retuned, they pick up the can and refund my money. I will update this post.
