Earl's Construction Services

Earl provided us with a detailed estimate on-line after an inspection of the bathroom and the tiles.  He changed his work schedule in order to get the job done earlier than projected. He showed up on time with his co-worker on the day decided and told us he could do the work in one day rather than two so that we would not be inconvenienced.  He put drop cloths leading up to the 2nd fl bath.  The work was finished by 5PM and he asked for payment without showing me the bathroom.  I should have been wary because he did not ask me to inspect his work. They cleaned up properly.   We were told not to walk on the floor until the next day and then to wipe it down with clear water the day after.  Upon inspection I found that  the grout on one section had already shrunk and cracked.  The tiles on 12" sections were installed off plumb and were uneven.  The floors in our 60-year old house are not level, but  the tiles are so uneven that we can't use our bathroom scale where we normally do.    The  vanity top was removed leaving a big hole in the plaster board which he did not repair.  The medicine cabinet is a bit off plumb, but  I can live with it.  I wrote to Earl about the issues, but he has not responded, although the e-mails were marked as read.
