Dan did the estimate.  He has excellent knowledge of trees.  He was flexible in giving me an itemized estimate and providing insurance information.  The crew cutting the trees acted in a professional manner.  I was pleased to see them using safety equipment.  Dan came the next day to grind the stumps.  Again a good job.  The stump and roots out from several feet were completely ground up..  He showed up about 3 hours later than he said he would.  Considering problems I have had with tree people making an appointment for an estimate and then not ever showing up, this was a minor problem.  A note about stump grinding in general.  You will end up with a large hole in the ground and a large pile of soil next to it, but this is the result for all stump grinding.  Just know that you will be doing a good deal of work on this  or hiring it out. 

A formal contract was made to remove several trees at a cost of $3,500. The contractor departed from the job without notifying me and I caught up with him while he was still on my lane to provide full payment. When I returned I noticed that the job was not completed. I contacted him and he promised to remove the last tree. Future calls went unanswered. When he was on my street doing another job he stated that he would take care of it that day but he did not. I contacted him yesterday and he said he will send someone out to remove "that little a** tree". It would take less than 30 minutes for the work to be completed but he doesn't care about his business ethics - it is quite clear that his sole focus is new work vs. finishing a job that he acknowledges that he didn't complete. As far as I am concerned when a contractor acknowledges that they did not complete a job that they were paid for with no justification or defense then they grade out below an F. The proper label is that he his a Thief!!

He gives you a written affidavit and sticks to his word when he gives you a price. He is reputable and he is insured.

Part of our property is wooded, but there are some nice 15+ year old pin oaks and other nice trees that the previous owner planted along the driveway. Unfortunately, due to the spacing of those trees and the 30+FT height of the older trees on the property, some of the trees were being choked and overtaken by adjacent trees.
We also had two large pine trees that had been knocked down by Hurricane Sandy. We paid a landscaper to raise and stake them, but the trees came back down in the next storm.
Dan Moore reviewed our many trees and helped me identify which ones to remove. His insight was very valuable. He also showed me how the landscaper didn't know what he was doing when he staked the pine trees. They were staked too low, which is why the staking did not hold. We concluded that there was enough work for his crew and bucket trucks for an entire day.
The crew arrived on-time and started working immediately. The team did a fantastic job and took all the debris with them. When I arrived home that day, I couldn't tell that we had so much work done. There was no mess at all. But, the trees looked great and the dying trees were gone.
Dan was fantastic to deal with and is a great businessman. I would highly recommend Dan Moore Tree Service to anyone, especially friends, family and neighbors.

They are very responsive and get the job done as quickly as they can.

After Dan's initial estimate, I requested and confirmed removal of 2 large pine trees and 4 stumps. I was told removal would happen within 1 week but waited 2 months before Dan would return my calls. When he did finally return my call, he said a crew would arrive later that day which never happened. 1 month later, I received a Sunday afternoon call (while out of town) from an employee who said he was in my driveway ready to work. I told him the trees were marked with large white ribbon and he assured me Dan had given him a and quot;mapand quot; of the yard. I returned home that evening to find he had CUT DOWN THE WRONG TREE!! After a long phone conversation with Dan, he assured me the correct pine would be removed along with all of the stumps the following weekend with no charge and his deepest apologies. 1 month beyond that conversation, the tree was removed but all 4 stumps remained. Another 2 weeks passed before Dan called to say he was in my yard about to remove the now 5 stumps and that I could just mail in a check for the work. I reminded him that he had previously assured me there would be no charge due to the loss of the wrong 40' pine, at which point he confusedly said he didn't recall that conversation and then promptly hung up on me. I came home to find the stumps removed but the holes and mess left in the yard (along with the tire ruts from his truck). I never heard from him again. In all, it took 5 months to shed myself of Dan Moore and his meaningless word.

They were great, absolutely wonderful. They told me things about my trees that I didn't even know. Their work really made a big difference. I liked that they explained everything. They told me to be careful with that type of tree because usually it could damage the whole tree if we cut it wrong. They cleaned up and there was nothing left when they departed. They were really good, excellent.

Dan came to give an estimate on the job and we arranged for the date for the service to be performed.
Dan and his team arrived on time and set to work immediately. The job took all day long and everyone was courteous and hard-working. They took a 30 minute lunch and went right back to work. (In my experience with workmen, I've never had anyone literally take a 30 minute lunch!) They went out of their way to be sure they were doing what I wanted done. They cleaned up everything right down to the leaf blower to clear the sidewalk of some leftover twigs.
My neighbor also contracted with Dan for some tree and shrub removal as a result of my experience. She was pleased with the service as well.
When I was preparing for a new fence installation, I learned that there were stumps in the fence line that needed to be removed. Dan took care of that, too, on 11/26/2012.
I was happy with the work from the first experience and just as happy with the second. I have more work on other trees coming up in a few months and Dan Moore is the one I will call.

I feel as if I got more than my money's worth. They did a spectacular job on the trees and cleaned up the yard before they left. I would definitely hire Dan again and would not hesitate to recommend him to friends.

We had a number of dead trees cut down and Dan's team did a great job. The quality of the job exceeded what we paid. I would call Dan again in a minute next time I need tree work done.

Dan came out the day after we called to give a free estimate. He's very friendly and prompt and returns calls! The estimate was 1/3 the price of another estimate we had gotten from a much larger tree service company! A few days later Dan called to say they could come out that morning if that worked for us and they showed up right on time and had 1 tree taken down and 2 others trimmed in about an hour. The crew was a little "rough around the edges" but they did excellent work, were fast, and the price was phenomenal. Overall we were very pleased and would certainly use them again.

They are people of integrity. They did what they said they would do. I am very pleased with the work. They are polite and excellent business people. They repaired all damage completely. I would highly recommend them.

In all cases, branches were removed but no cleanup was done, leaving sawdust for us to sweep up. For the most part, the five men who came laid around on the lawn doing nothing. There was enough work for two of them. Rather than leave when they were done, they just started cutting limbs on other trees so as to put in half a day of work.
