 + -1 moreStart ok, after getting their service like a huge pile of stinking smelly crap out in the summer air, they are vile and evil thieves.
Description of Work: I got this waste of time and evil vile company to install a dish on my house to get the internet because they said it would only cost me $29.99 a month. Well the day that I got it at 12:00 pm installed I was happy with it to start then by 1:30 pm only one and a half hours useing it to surf the web it started to slow way and I mean way down like a old telephone modem a 28.8K modem from 1988. I called thinking something was wrong with the system or something. This woman said nothing wrong its you have gone past you're 2 tiny megabyte allowance. I said what?!?!?!? They said to speed it back up I have to buy tokens to keep up the speed. I said what the F***!!!! I was told only $29.99 a month! They said thats how we get you then charge you $5.00 a token every time you go over 2 tiny little megabytes. I was also told theres free broadband speed between 2 am to 6 am in the morning. What a load of F***ing b*******!!! This company is vile and evil and should be put down like a rabid dog! These people are very evil with their lies and vile sickness of abusing their customers. I ditched them like a piece of rotten fruit with worms and magots. To me thats what the owners of this company is vile magots!!!! I can not say enough how much I so hate this perverted company. They also tried to tell me it costs so much because satellites are new. Uhhh ever heard of Spukine if I spelt it right launched in 1957 by the Russians, and telestar back in 1962 to broadcast tv around the world. They tried to tell me that cable was older than Satellite tech. Ha was cable in homes back in the Kennedy or Johnson or even the Nixon presidency? I don't think so because satellites were up in space back then!!!! They lie, steal and cheat the peoples good will to get cheap internet then try and pull the rug out from under you. Well I canceled their little lyeing company the minute they told me how they really work and refuse to pay them one penny, the lyeing bastards.

 + -1 moreOverall, it was terrible! We were signed on for several years, and the service deteriorated steadily over that period of time. Sometimes, service was very slow (note: we never expected DSL-type speeds, but this was often slower than dialup). Sometimes service was non-existent - that is, it was not possible to connect to the internet. In the latter situation (no service), we were told that we had exceeded the daily maximum - but on many of those days, we were out of town and not even using the internet. When we had a problem, we called technical support. That was not very helpful. Typically, this person was not competent and had no clue as to what might be wrong and how to fix the problem - even when the problem was simply slow or zero internet service. In general, we had great difficulty understanding the technical-support person who was apparently at a call center somewhere in India. We spent hours on the phone trying to get help and not succeeding. We finally gave up and switched to another internet service provider.
Description of Work: This company was supposed to provide internet services. They offer services in rural areas where no other internet service is available.

 + -1 moreWe purchased a new home where only dial-up and satellite internet service are available; no DSL or cable TV. The only options were dial-up or satellite. That is where my association with Hughenet began. I simply have nothing good to say. It never worked very well, was slow, was extremely expensive, and there was always some upgraded modem to purchase. Customer service is far beyond horrible. If you have another option, take it!
