Adjusted Grandmother clock.

Someone came and picked up my clock in Philadelphia on April 17 of this year. They still have not completed the repairs to the clock seven months later, and every time I call they say it will be another few weeks. Last time I called (3 weeks ago) a guy said all he had to do was a hand on the clock face and then run it for a couple of weeks and it would be all set to go. I called today and he STILL HAS NOT EVEN PUT THE HAND ON THE CLOCK. I asked when it will be done and he said it will be done when it is done, and then he basically told me to buzz off, he was busy, and hung up on me. Their turnaround time is quoted as 12-18 weeks. Well, its been 30 WEEKS now and they still cannot tell me when the clock will be done. .I'm going in next week to pick up the clock myself whatever condition it is in and take it somewhere else.

Great experience. I called on Monday afternoon and left a message, they are closed on Mondays.. I received a call back Tuesday morning and an appointment was scheduled for that evening. Andy came to the house, was very professional and personable and was able to get the clock up and running within an hour. The service was great, the price was right and the turnaround even better. I highly recommend The Clock Shoppe for clock and/or watch repair.

My experience overall went excellently. He was very professional and friendly. He was punctual and knew exactly what he doing. I would highly recommend him to others.

We delivered the clock and they had it working again in about 6-8 weeks. We weren't in a hurry. Couldn't be happier with my clock - it runs like a top and is ready for more years of service. The clock shoppe owners were incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and our repair was very reasonably priced. I highly recommend them.

I got my grandparent's old cuckoo clock from my sister-- it had been in an open box in an attic and was full of dust and just a mess.
They repaired the clock and it looks and works great-- really pleased with the repair!
There were two issues: it took a long time for the repair, and the owner was not customer focused.
The time wasn't really an issue for us since we were fine waiting, but it would have been nice to know how long it was going to take. they didn't give us a timeline, just said they would call when it was done, and it took about two months. So, if we were repairing a clock for a gift, then that would have been a real drag. When we picked up the clock, the owner was on the phone with another customer and badmouthed about them to us. I'm sure it's possible the other customer could have been a legitimate jerk, but it didn't seem very professional to express that to another customer. Also, we had asked him to add a missing bracket tack on the decorative piece on top of the clock. when my husband noticed it was missing and asked about it, he just handed my husband the tack to take home. We attached the tack later on no problem, but we're both pretty handy and another customer might have not been as comfortable with that. We just thought that was kind of rude for how long we had waited for the clock and because we had asked him to fix that part as part of the repair. Still, I'd much rather have a little gruffness and a great clock repair then be treated like a queen and have bad quality work. So, still confidently recommended.

I brought the clock in to get the pendulum attachment fixed and they repaired it right on the spot for a great price.

They did a wonderful job. He took great care of the clock, I was very pleased.

Overall service is excellent!

I brought in two of my parents' clocks to get repaired, 1 wall clock and 1 cuckoo clock. The owner (Andy) looked at the wall clock, took it in the back room and was able to fix it right on the spot! The cuckoo clock he took and then called a couple weeks later to say it was ready. My mom took the cuckoo clock home and then didn't like the sound it made, so we brought the clock back and Andy made some more adjustments to it at no extra charge. Now both clocks are working perfectly and the cuckoo sounds better. :)

We moved from West Virginia to Wyncote in August. We have an eight day wind up clock we've had for 36 years and it wouldn't work when we took it out of the box and put it on the wall. We took it up to Newtown Clock Shop, dreading the cost of repairs. It had to have the clockwork replaced a few years back. The owner looked at the clock, made a slight adjustment with his fingers, showed us what what out of adjustment, how to fix it and charged us nothing. My husband ended up chatting with him for another 40 minutes, they shared some common interests. We would definitely go back again.

We had a dead European tall-case clock, made in Holland, that my elderly mother-in-law had since the 1960's. As she down-sized and moved she gave us the clock. It hadn't worked in over a decade. From the first call and scheduling an appointment to the service Newtown Clock Shoppe is a gem. Mary Ann was most helpful in scheduling and advising what kind of process I could expect to get the clock working. She called to confirm the appointment on the day of service. Andy arrived, was charming, funny and professional. He didn't mind our two dogs acting as supervisors. He fixed the clock in situ. It keeps perfect time and chimes every quarter-hour with beautiful tone. I will use these folks whenever I have a "clock crisis."

A little late in arriving but once the serviceman (shop owner) was here he went to work and explained all that he was doing and what would be the next step if our clock continued to stop as some of the gears showed signs of wear. Though very professional, my Husband and I thought Andy (? his buisness card says Roy) was funny and whitty. Nice person, great conversation, and great job on our clock. Two thunbs up!!

Called back in one day, was on time for appointment, cleaned and started clock, gave me estimates of value on 5 old watches and clocks, watched end of Philly's no hit playoff game with me and left me with a positive experience. Would recommend highly.
