KIRSHNER LANDSCAPE NURSERIES

Kirshner Landscapes and Nurseries was a great choice! Their work was done professionally, diligently, and turned out absolutely gorgeous! Jeff was easy to work with and made some recommendations that helped the look of my garden. I am so happy that I discovered them and I surely will be calling them for my future needs.

Install a stone walkway- the worst walkway you have ever seen, dangerous- proper bedding was not used- we have since had to spend an addtional $2,000 to have it re-installed properly.
Install drains and create a water drainage swail- swail was created right, only 1 drain was installed and it was surrounded by goose egg sized river rocks in the middle of our yard resembling a water basin- again we have since removed the rocks ourselves and replaced with sod- the swail and a drainage pipe only extended halfway thru our backyard and we incurred additional costs to extend the drain to the proper length. 
plant deer resistant shrubs- we have had to replace and then surround the "deer resistant shrubs" with deer netting- poor planning - we are convinced we were given late season leftover shrubs from Kirshner's nursery.  Requests were made for specific shrubs and colors and neither were honored.
remove a few small trees and grid stumps- small trees were removed but stumps were never ground down and we've since had to have someone else come out and finish the work that Kirsher was unwilling to take responsibility for
remove white stone in front bed and replace with red tipple - Instead of removing the white stone, Kirshner took a short cut and covered the white stone with red tipple- white stone is breaking through causing us to incur additional costs for removal of white stone and replacement of red tipple
install tree "up-lighting"- the only thing done well except for the wires were buried too shallow and are now surfacing
extend gutter drains from home- never completed
Placing plaints in beds- Shade loving plants were placed in full sun resulting in plants dying and never were replaced
We made more than 15 attempts to have Kirshner come out and fix all of the mistakes and we continually got put off by promises of Kirshner to correct these issues.  They made half hearted attempts at the walkway which resulted in a more dangerous walkway with the stones separating from one another. 
In addition to the terrible craftmanship and a lack of caring or respect for their clients, the Kirshners continually talked about other clients in a negative way they also talked negatively about other landscapers. 
Kirshner Landscaping is the absolute worst company we have ever done business with.  I wish that I had an accurate reference before I hired them to do work for us.

If it could go wrong it went wrong:
- The start date was postponed several times and the work was contracted for well in advance.  It was to be ready for our daughters graduation and only 85% of the work was completed on time.
- Several plants began to die almost immediately.  We called and messages were left and Jeff Kirschner just did not return phone calls.  We emailed pictures of the dead scrubs and plants and some were replaced with the promise that they would be back to replace the others.  Well, never to return.  We have called several time this season and Jeff has yet to return a phone call. 
- We had used Kirshner's many years ago and they were fine.  The firm now is totally unresponsive and we will seek a resolution in small claims court.
- As a side note:  We chose Kirshner's higher price because they had completed work satisfactory many years ago.  So much for paying a premium price for lousy work and a totally unprofessional approach.

I WENT TO THE NURSERY TO PURCHASE SHRUBS FOR OUTSIDE MY HOME. THE SALESPERSON APPEARED TO BE A REAL GREEN THUMB AND ASSISTED ME IN FINDING THE PLANTS TO REPLACE THE ONES IN THE FRONT OF MY HOME BASED ON MY ROUGH DRAWING AND EXPLANATION. VERY PROFESSIONAL, BUT A LITTLE PRICEY. GAVE ME A 6 MONTH GUARANTEE ON THE PLANTS AND WHEN TWO DIED THEY GAVE ME REPLACEMENTS IMMEDIATELY. VERY SATISFIED.
