This is not a real full-time construction firm despite the pretty graphics on two vehicles he uses. He has a full time job and does the "Contacting" on the side in his spare time. He doesn't seem to have much spare time to devote to the contracting side, and neither does the one helper I have seen on site. Partially primed and repaired roof, contacted him eight days ago to tell him about a leak, he said "Ok", no contact since then. Still waiting for polymer coating to be applied. He did saw cut the block walls and install the two steel doors, however, he ordered the wrong ones and they lack deadbolts. The lever operator for one is so loose the internal mechanisms are visible from the outside and are collecting rain water. For weather stripping he used cheap self adhesive rubber foam and left gaps that air blows through. He applied drylock paint and foam sheets to the block walls, and sealed SOME of the seams in the foam with metal tape, then he ran out of tape and never bothered to seal the remaining seams before starting the framing. Areas of the foam sheets on the walls are pieced together from scrap left over from fitting other sheets into place. Other areas are still bare block. Attempted to hide gaps in the foam sheet using tape. The "Framing" job is incomplete and of sub-par quality. Instead of building the frames on the floor and then setting them up against the block wall he toe-nailed the studs up one at a time and then tried to install horizontal braces at random intervals. The window framing areas should have been built using double studs, but he used singles, the window frames are badly warped and need replaced. There are numerous studs warped and twisted from lack of support and need to be replaced. Furthermore, the studs do not fall at traditional intervals, so standard length drywall panels to not end at a stud for nailing. The six inch fiberglass insulation has been on the site for months and is still not installed. He asked for an advance payment to buy drywall on March 8, it is now May 19 and there is no drywall on site. Some issues with the ceiling came to light that I am willing to pay to correct, however, he lacks the ability to do the work, and just stopped working instead of hiring someone or subcontracting out the additional work. To top it all off, I had to change the front door lock because he lost the key, he never even offered to reimburse me for the changeout. In conclusion, he takes the upfront money, provides poor quality work, shows up once in a while when he feels like it, may be ok for gutters, carpentry not a key strength..
