TERRIBLE, TERRIIBLE, TERRIBLE!!!! My home warranty company sent Salego to my home due to furnace cycling on/off.(Furnace was still heating house, just took a little longer than normal.) technician arrived and instead of looking for a problem, immediately started changing settings which the furnace had been set to for many years. He Increased high limit shut off temperature, and increased blower to max speed. (Furnace had operated perfectly fine on previous settings for many years.) After making those adjustments, the furnace would not even ignite. (My furnace always ignited prior to technician making those adjustments.) technician never performed any diagnostics or checked functioning of a single sensor. Instead, he looked inside the heat exchanger and said “this furnace is shot, the heat exchanger is cracked.” Technician then began discussing prices of new furnace. Once again, my furnace was heating my home prior to this service call, now technician was leaving and my furnace wouldn’t even ignite. I asked him to make it work again due to me having a 1 year old child in the home and needing heat. Technician refused to make furnace operable because of the risk of carbon monoxide. I explained I have CO detectors which have never detected any CO in the house but he still refused to make my furnace operable. Conclusion: I paid $75 for technician to make my problem worse and completely disable my heat. What a deal, huh? A 2nd opinion revealed heat exchanger is not cracked and my furnace is not “shot.”

I was told by Salego service tech that my AC unit was leaking and low on freon and that I should not use it because I would risk my coil freezing up. Of course, I was not given the option of having the leak found and fixed and freon added but Instead I was offered a price on a new unit. After suffering through a couple of 95+ degree days with no air-conditioning I turned my AC on and the air felt plenty cold to me so I called in another HVAC company who confirmed that I was not low on freon at all. When I informed Salego of this I received no reply or apology or offer to make amends.

Salego HVAC went to my elderly widowed mothers house and said she needed extensive repairs to furnace. They said it was covered under her warranty but it would cost $150 to pick up the part and $450 to install it and they can do it the next day. How is that covered under a warranty? Of course my mother was very upset because this is something my Dad would take care of. My brother and I asked her to get a second opinion and the guy who came said if what they said was wrong they would have had to red tag her furnace and he showed her the real problem and fixed it for $70!!!!! I feel this is a case of trying to take advantage of an elderly widower and will never use Salego HVAC and will make sure anyone I know stays away from them. If I could give zero stars I would!

Salego took a week to show up initially. They said they would need 2-3 days for parts to arrive, but never called me back. I called after 10-days, and they said they were "too busy with other customers." They finally came to install the parts and when I returned home from work just a couple hours later, the AC/Furnace was still not working. Salego said that I must have broken it again (while I was away, at work?!). I demanded they come and fix it that night or the next day, but they said they were too busy with other customers. They finally agreed to come the next morning (after lying and saying no one was working that day), but they never showed up. I looked in the furnace and realized they installed the parts completely incorrectly and there was a blown fuse: they wired the board completely wrong. I was able to get a fuse at the auto shop and follow the manual to rewire the board - it took me 5-minutes. They refused to return my money.

The Furnace in our house quit working, The home warranty program sent Salego out to fix it, Repairman calls me, it was in the Evening, he asked if it could wait till tomorrow cause he wouldn't be able to get a part that late if it needed one, I ask him to come out anyways, it is winter time and have an elderly parent in the house, He comes out ,and within minutes he says , you need a new motherboard and I don't have that with me , They come back next day and supposedly replace the part. A little over a week goes by and we have no heat again and furnace making exact same noise as before, We have enough another heating company come out and he had it fixed in minutes, Turns out it was not the motherboard that was faulty, it was a pressure switch. .So basically salego heating was trying to get a bigger repair out of the deal then was necessary. I highly recommend against using this company. . After reading their Better Business Bureau complaints, seems like this same experience I had has happened to others

That day we waited anxiously for the contractor to call, however even at the end of next day no one had called. Selected a different provider based on the reviews on Angie's list, which performed the service immediately.

The bidding process went well and we are happy with the quality of the product, but the professionalism and the quality of the installation leave more to be desired.  We have used Salego for several years but we will not be doing business with them again unless it relates to a warranted product.
The installers were not very professional when they were here.  They were messy and took much longer than I would have expected.  They made notes of items that they needed to finish on the second day which they neglected to complete resulting in the need for a follow up visit.  They installed our new thermostat so crooked it was comical and left a pile of sawdust and plaster on our floor where I had young children playing.  One installer misplaced a drill during his duct cleaning work and walked around asking us repeatedly where it went as if we had taken it.  After a month or so passed and it was cold enough to use the furnace the first time, it didn't turn on resulting in yet another call to have it looked at.  It turns out the installers never flipped the internal switch required to use the unit.  He also commented that he wouldn't charge me for the visit which I cannot believe I would have been charged in the first place.  He also made comments that the unit wasn't installed in a way that would get the most efficiency from the unit.
We also requested copies of our paper work to be mailed when we made payment over the phone.  We have yet to receive those.  The email version was unprofessional and had multiple misspellings.  Very unprofessional
Overall it was very disappointing, I expected better given the price.  Lesson learned and they lost a faithful customer.

Waited more than two weeks for Salego to provide diagnostics and estimate to our home warranty company -- during June with more than 90 degree temperatures. Very rude and unprofessional customer service. We had to hire another company for the job after one of our beloved pets died from heat stroke due to waiting on this company. F rating...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I WAS SURPRISED THE TECHNICIAN CAME THE SAME DAY AS REPORTED. VERY PROMPT AND EXPLAINED WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND HOW HE REPAIRED IT. UNIT IS DRY NOW.

VERY COURTEOUS AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.

Everything went well.  The office staff was helpful, the service techs were very knowledgeable.  And, best of all, this important repair was covered by the Home Warranty.  Thank you to all involved!

This company was referred by our home warranty company, came to our new house since our
furnace kept turning off frequently.  Told us that the heat exchanger
was bad and was leaking carbon monoxide into the house.  We asked if it
was covered under our home warranty, since we closed less than week
earlier.  Technician told us "yes".  He then went outside to make a
phone call.  When he returned his demeanor had changed.  He required us
to sign a form agreeing that we'd pay an exorbitant call out fee, if the repair was not covered by the home warranty  He was very insistent to get us to sign and said he wouldn't leave until we did.  At the time we were far more worried about the furnace and carbon monoxide than what the Salego Technician was doing to us.  After all he had said that this would be a covered repair.
We signed, he left and the next day we found out that nothing would be covered by the home warrently, they warrenty company claimed that the cracked heat exchanger was normal wear and tear and could have bee avoided by proper maintenance.  I assume they came to that assessment by the Salego Technicians inspection.  Now the "outside" phone call made sense and my wife and I, whom had just purchased our new home were left in more of financial hole.
We paid Slago's exorbiarant fee of $450.00 3 days later.  In the fine print of the paper we signed there was a clause stating that if it wasn't paid in full within 7 days an additional bill would be mailed out at the cost of $25.00.  I guess for the inconvenience of having to to mail out a bill.
I wish the Salego Technician would have have honest with us, not underhanded and the fees they charge reasonable for the service provided.

The woman who booked my appointment was rude.   Nobody showed up and when I called, they claimed to know nothing about the appointment.     They claim it was their answering service, so they should fire them and answer their own phones.

The price was compared to 4 companies.

Our A/C quit working over the weekend. When I noticed it, I called Salego on Monday morning and left a message to call when they got in rather than have someone come right out. They called at 8am, but my Mom was not home. I called at 9am when the office opened and they said they would call her to see if she was back home and they would send someone out. We had them service our furnace last winter and I asked for the same tech, Matt, and they said no problem. When he arrived, he immediately diagnosed the problem and had the part on his truck. When I called my Mom back, she said it was fixed and on my way home I stopped by their office to thank them for taking care of the problem. I talked to Barbara and Bonnie and they were very caring.Thank you for the great service.

I spent about $3500 on that service. There was an issue with their work, but they came right out and took care of it. They were good with clean up and when they saw that there was a problem with the venting of my dryer, they fixed that. The company that did the hot water heater for me did not vent the hot water heater properly, so they re-vented the hot water heater as well and did not charge me for it.

THEY WERE REFERRED TO ME THROUGH AMERICAN HOME SHIELD WARRANTY COMPANY. WHEN THEY CONTACTED ME, THEY WOULD NOT WORK WITH ME AT ALL TO SET UP A CONVENIENT TIME. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD BE THERE BASICALLY ANY TIME AFTER 11:00AM. I ASKED IF THEY COULD CALL ME AHEAD OF TIME IN ORDER FOR ME TO GET HOME FROM MY WORK - IT TAKES ME A MINIMUM 45 MINUTES TO GET HOME - THEY SAID THEY COULD ONLY CALL AHEAD 15 MINUTES NO MORE - THEY SAID I SHOULD TAKE VACATION TIME FOR THE APPOINTMENT. I FINALLY GOT AHS TO TRANSFER THE CALL TO A COMPANY MUCH CLOSER TO MY HOME AND MUCH MORE WILLING TO WORK WITH ME WITH MY SCHEDULE. THEY SAID THEY COULD BE THERE AT 8:00AM ON THE 20TH AND THEY CALLED ABOUT 7:30 TO SAY THEY WERE ON THE WAY.

Work was performed under a home warranty purchased by the seller the very week we moved in to the house, before the actual policy was even in the system Technicians were nice and professional.

THEY DID COME WHEN SAID THEY WOULD BUT IT WAS JUST DIFFICULT TO SCHEDULE THEM. THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE ONE WEEK, THEN IT TURNED INTO TWO BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T GET THE PARTS AND THEN THEY HAD TO WORK US IN. THEY WERE FRIENDLY TO US AND I FELT COMFORTABLE WITH THEM IN THE HOUSE.
