I had three companies including Basement Medics provide me with quotes to do the work in my basement.  Within 1 day, I received a written quote and a date the work could be completed.  Basement Medics was the least expensive but this is not the reason I chose them to do the work.  I liked that they are a family owned business and Bob, the owner, came to my house to inspect what needed to be done.  He was very professional and explained exactly what needed to be done.  He spent time to answer all my questions and did not pressure me to make a decision as other companies did.
Bob arrived with his son right on schedule to complete the work.  They were very neat and left the basement area clean.
I am very happy with the job they did and would recommend them to anyone.

When I bought this home 8 years ago there was only dampness in the rear unfinished basement portion of my home. Changes in the water table level (and wear on the home I guess, but in 8 years? - it's been around since 1926) had started to bring tons of water into the rear of my home on every hard rain. All my neighbors are having similar issues. We had no sump pump so every time it rained someone had to be home to "bail out" the basement into the utility sink. We were getting pretty tired of this. A realtor friend recommended Basement Medics as "Water Magicians" who could diagnose and remedy any water invasion so I called them. Only later I found them on Angies List and it stated they do not service my area. Well, they did, and they kept every appointment, on time. Ours was a tough problem since they could not attack it from the outside which I would have preferred (theres's a huge deck and patio out there), they had to work from the inside of the basement. They had many crew out here to do the job. They highly respected my property and completely cleaned up everything. They chose the right fix for the situation.and we are so pleased with the results. After a couple of rains I put my laundry room rugs back on the floor for the first time in 4 years.

No work was completed at our home since there was nothing presented in writing and this company did not meet any of its promises for even an appointment.

Rarely do I feel really good about an experience when someone does work on our house, but I did with Basement Medics.  It was the perfect "no hassle" experience.

I called the number on Angie's list and the owner, Bob, answered right away.  I described my problem, he described his recommended solution and gave me a price for the described service right there on the phone. Usually contractors see the size of my house and the price goes up, not this time!  He told me a bit about his background as a foundation expert having worked in the field for around 30 years. I told him I would think about it and get back to him.  I have had bad experiences in the past with waterproofing guys coming to the house and giving me a hard sell pitch for waterproofing systems ranging from $5,000-$30,000.

I called him back a few days later and told him I would like to go ahead.  He offered to come out to the house to take a look just to make sure everything would be as he described.  Since he was an hour away I told him not to make two trips just come out when he could do the job.  He suggested I send him some photos just to be sure, which I did.  Based on the photos he let me know some carpentry work would need to be removed so there would be no surprises.  I appreciated this very much.

He was scheduled to come out on a day that we got heavy snow.  He contacted me the day before and advised that he would likely not be out.  He contacted me again after the snow to reschedule the appointment.  Completely proactive on his part, no chasing on mine - fantastic!

He arrived on the day the work was scheduled to be done.  Did exactly what he said he would for the price quoted.  He was professional, personable, did a great job and cleaned up everything before he left.  He also explained the situation to me and answered all my questions.

I highly recommend Basement Medics to anyone with water in their basement or foundation issues.

Every time it rained water would accumulate in the basement of the new house we just purchased. We called several waterproofing companies each one suggested an interior french drain (we already had an exterior french drain). We received estimates from four different companies and choose basement medics for several reasons. Their price was comparable to their competitors and Basement Medics provides a superior product. I do not recall the specific model of the pipe that they lay in the ground, but it was stronger, more durable, and less likely to clog then the black perforated pipe and PVC pipe that the other competitors use. I researched it after Bob came and gave his presentation. Bob also suggested we bring the line that disperses the water to daylight by tunneling it from the basement to the front yard where there is a nice slope. The other companies suggested a pop-up value. After a little research I read a lot of negative reviews on the pop-up value as in the winter months it can freeze shut and allow the water to backup right into the basement.
Bob (the owner) said he would be at our house while the project was being completed as he does the work himself to make sure it's done right. Bob was there and it was done right. His crew arrived on time and completed the job in one day. That was impressive as this was an extremely labor intensive job. Tons and tons of concrete was jack-hammered up, loaded into buckets, carried up from the basement and dumped into the back of a pickup. The pickup then had to be taken to the dump yard for several trips as there was that much concrete. After installation of the pipe (amongst other things) in the ground, new concrete was poured in and smoothed over. The basement was left spotless when the job was complete. It was been over three months since the job was completed and we have not had a drop of water in our basement. The biggest bonus is that we had about 1-2 inches of water that accumulated in our backyard every time it rained. Now, the water sinks right into the french drain and is pumped out.

Bob, the owner of Basement Medic and his employees were very professional and courteous. They were great about explaining every step of the process. I assumed it was going to be a huge mess, but they were very clean and efficient. The process was very labor intensive. They had to bring all the concrete and dirt out by wheel barrels up and down my bilco doors, including the new cement. They were meticulous about the clean up and my basement was guaranteed for life. I couldn't be happier, I would totally recommend Basement medic.

Punctual, cleaned up, did job well and was very responsive to questions. Did additional concrete work not included in original estimate at no extra charge. Cam back twice for inspections of work and questions. Very knowledgeable. Told us when extra work was NOT needed.

We only ended up getting one estimate but were very impressed w/ Bob and his presentation when he came to the house. We moved into the house about 1 year prior and after heavy rains had 1-2 inches of standing water in the basement a few times, we could see where it was leaking through the walls and tried to patch them ourselves, without much luck.
Bob came to the house, went through the basement, described to us w/ pictures what was causing the problem and how his method would fix it. One of the things that impressed me the most was his work comes with a lifetime guarantee as long as we are in the house, and it is even transferable to one owner past us.
Some unexpected bills came up and we didn't get back to him for a few months. When we did, he came out again, went through everything like he did the first time.
It was a 2 day job, they were punctual and cleaned up everything after each day. To get to the basement they had to go through the kitchen and put up a plastic sheet hanging from the ceiling to keep dust out of the rest of the kitchen.
We haven't had too heavy a rain yet, but the musty smell is gone from the basement, we haven't even turned on the dehumidifier again which used to run 24/7.
Would definitely recommend Bob and Basement Medics to anyone. Pricey, but I'm confident it will be well worth the cost.

We have a finished basement that has a veritcal crack running the wall from top to bottom. The crack was supposedly fixed before we purchased the house. Shortly after finishing the basement with drywall and carpet, we noticed water slowly trickling through the crack. We had another service come out to seal the crack with an epoxy mix which was very inexpensive, but did not actually stop the leak. We tried the epoxy seal a couple times, but it never worked for us. Every time it rained, it was a constant worry that the leak would cause damage to the finished basement. Another concern we had was that the existing pit was too shallow and we only had 1-2 feet of drain pipe leading into the pit. We contacted Bob at Basement Medics after being referred to him by a landscape designer we were working with. Bob came out within a day or two of calling him. He was on time and well prepared. It was clear to me that he knew what he was doing and I was confident he would do a good job. He explained in great detail a couple different options that we could go with, but we chose his recommendation as it was most cost effective and most likely to fix the problem for good.We received a detailed quote and explanation of the work to be done the following day.
On the day the work was to be done, Bob arrived earlier than the rest of the crew to begin removing the molding and preparing to remove the drywall. Overall, the job took less time than expected and was completed within 1 day (about 8 hours). I was extremely impressed with how clean the job was. The crew took a lot of care with plastic sheeting and fans to keep a necessarily messy job from invading the rest of the finished basement. In addition to the cleanliness, I was very happy with how little "tear down" had to be down to the drywall/studs to complete the work. While I was prepared to have a couple feet of drywall removed, Bob was able to get it done while removing only a minimal amount of drywall and can be covered by the molding we had already.
A couple small things that make a big difference in the end - They rerouted the water exhaust pipe from the sump pump to move it out of the middle of the room toward the wall. They installed a flat cover for the sump pit that screws down which is much nicer than the cheap plastic cover I had.
Since the work has been done, we've had a couple big rains (that would have been an issue in the past) with no problems. I would highly recommend Bob and Basement Medics.

They examined the crawlspace, noting the water seepage into the cinder blocks, the high humidity in the space and the musty odor. They strongly recommended a french drain to get rid of the water seepage and get the humidity under control. The quote came in at $15K which I had actually expected to be more considering all of the work they put into the proposal. The proposal consisted of a french drain, painting the entire crawlspace with a fungicidal coating that would block the humid air from reaching the wood and would kill the existing mold, completely closing the crawlspace off so that no residual humidity would seep into the area, seal two crawlspace vents, install two sump pumps and wells, run sump lines out of the house to an existing drywell, and powerwash the entire crawlspace afterwards to clean out the dirt and dust on the crawlspace floor. The work was started on time and the crew that came out were great. They accessed the crawlspace by creating a hole in the existing wall rather than move the debris out through the house. The only complaint I have is when they were jackhammering the concrete in the crawlspace, the dust came up through the kitchen floor. Needless to say it wouldn't have mattered had the debris come through the house or not. They tried their best to keep the dust down but that's the nature of the beast. There was an area of the crawlspace that was part of a recent addition and the concrete in that area was particularly difficult to remove. That set the project back a couple of days. However, when the extra time was needed to finish the job Bob and his partner came out on Saturday to get the job done. A couple plants became collateral damage to the work but it was to be expected. I am very pleased with the job Basement Medics did. When it comes time to wrap the crawlspace for insulation and additional control of humidity, I'll be calling them.
