Mooney's Painting

Mooney painting was referred to us by an acquaintance stating that he did a great job w/reasonable prices. On 2/26/12 we were given an estimate to do interior painting of 4 rooms in our house. We scheduled to have the work done on Thursday 3/15 & Friday 3/16. My husband had to take 2 vacation days from work to be home so the work could be done. On 3/8 an email was sent by us to Mooney Painting w/our choice of colors & to confirm 3/15. I did not receive a response until 3/13 @ 840pm (~36 hours before the job was suppose to begin) when I was told " i just wanted to apologize that it doesn't look good for this week. our whole shop has the FLU & the product that you want will cost $1,000.00 dollars more". The email goes on to state how my choice of colors "takes alot more time and must keep a wet edge or it will look like CRAP.......". I do not feel that using the word "crap" is very professional or helpful to a potential customer. Also, my husband took 2 days off work that will now be wasted. My husband did send back an email on 3/13 trying to reschedule. We are still waiting for a reply........ Needless to say, we will not be using this company nor do we recommend them.

This was the best experience I have ever had with a contractor. Mike and his assistant arrived each day on time and cleaned up each day. The craftsmanship was first rate! Mike provided some tips to us on paints to use and colors which was nice. A nice surprise was the wall prepping they did. We did not expect them to do this... very nice touch.
