Detwiler Roofing

Please let me share my experience with this roofing outfit. Titus and the Detwiler crew are exceptional. Not only do they know how to put up a roof, they also have the greatest customer service skills I have ever seen of any contractor. Let me start from the beginning. First of all, my house is not small. It is a 200 year old farmhouse that has had several additions added over the last few hundred years, which makes for a lot of ridges and slopes and all that. I used Angie's List to get some more roofing estimates, as the estimates I had already received were over my budget. I emailed them And Titus called and texted me the next morning. We made an appointment that fit my schedule. Titus and one of his brothers showed up on time to give me an estimate. They actually showed up five minutes earlier than our scheduled appointment, which is a great way to start! They climbed up on the roof and took some pictures, and showed me that my roof was not in dire need of replacement. While they were up there they went ahead and replaced a vent pipe sleeve (I think) that had dry rotted. they just did it because it needed to be done. They didn't ask me, they didn't charge me, they just did it. Who does that? These guys. So, Titus said I didn't really need a new roof right away but he would sent me over an estimate anyway. He also made the suggestion of new fascia boards and eaves since mine were visibly starting to rot. And new gutters, since mine were not really functioning properly anymore. I asked him to make all that work a separate estimate. None of the other roofers made this suggestion. None of the others told me I didn't necessarily need a new roof. And none of the other roofers took pictures to show me! Again, the Detwiler crew are exceptional. Not even two hours later I received an estimate from Titus via email. Titus's estimate was very reasonable, AND they had a coupon here on Angie's List which made it even better! The total estimate for all the work was under my budget, which was hard to believe, but true! The Detwiler crew were able to start almost immediately. The crew worked efficiently and worked around the rainy weather. They were very professional and gave the old house the respect and attention it needed. OK, so... I was trying to trap a groundhog that started to make a home on the one side of the house. Instead, I trapped a skunk. The location of the trapped skunk was directly in front of where the crew was going to be working that morning. Before I even had a chance to get a tarp out of my truck, one of the crew members already had the trap completely wrapped up. They took complete control over the skunk situation. I don't think this is something that a roofing crew has to do very often, but they did. And it was awesome. They finished the job while happened to be home. We walked around the house and everything looked great! The house looks fantastic, the gutters are working incredible well, I just can;t say enough good things about this crew. If you need a roofer, just hire these guys. Just do it. Thanks, Detwiler Roofing!!!

The Detwiler family provides great service. Very high quality work; very polite, friendly, professional interactions; exceptional clean-up after the job was done. We were pleased with everything about them and their work including the price which matched the estimate we were given a year earlier.

DETWILER Roofing is an excellent Co. to have working on your home.All service was done with proficiency and courtesy . They worked in the coldest weather of the winter and put in long days to get the job done. I could not  have asked for better people or performance. I really must commend them for a job well done.

Very good

The service that was provided was outstanding from beginning to end. The roof started to leak and was an old slate roof. I used Angie's list to find a couple of contractors to get some estimates. I called Detwiler roofing and talked with Titus. I told him what I was looking for and he said he could send me a basic estimate before even coming out. He was able to use a system that showed him the roof and he was able to get measurements. He sent the estimate and the price was very competitive. We then meet at the apartment and looked over the job. He was on time and very nice and professional. He brought samples and we talked about some of the issues and additional things like the spouting and capping that I wanted done. We agreed that he would give me a second price for the additional work but the original price never changed. I decided to go with the whole job and they started within a week.
He told me the day he would be starting and again they started on time just like he said. I checked on the job after the first day. They started with the capping around the roof and it looked amazing. I talked with another worker John and he showed me what they were doing and what the next steps were. You could not ask for a nicer group of workers. They were all very polite but also very knowledgeable. They finished the job in 5 days and it was a large roof with a lot of capping and molding all along the top.
I would recommend this company to everyone. The work looks great and the price was one of the best. I always felt like I was dealing with someone who cared about my job.

They were amazing, very nice on the phone and very knowledgable. I will be using them for all of my roofing needs from now on.

I know my frustrations was the lack of communication - once Titus got to my house he explained everything but up to that point getting it scheduled wasn't the easiest task.

I had a small water stain in my sun room ceiling and decided to buy the $79 roofing special being offered back in August.  Titus was professional and good to work with.  He inspected the roof and could not find any damage or obvious leak spot, but caulked the area where the leak appeared to be coming from.  He also caulked other areas of concern that required caulking  After a month and some rain, I see the stain has not gotten larger as it did prior.  I'm hopeful the work done resolved the issue.  I will call Detwiler in the future for any roof repair needed.

The inspection was thorough, I thought.  The workers looked at a specific place where I thought water might be coming in, as well as generally inspecting the roof.

The repairs were done on schedule. Everyone was very pleasant and professional.

My only complaint is that when I got the quote/bill, it did into show the $100 credit for work as advertised in the Angie's List "deal."  I talked to Detweiler and was told that the credit was taken into account.  I don't believe that that's how they should do business.  You should get a quote, decide whether you want the service at that price, and then the credit should be applied.  How will I ever know whether I got the $100 credit?

Scheduling a date for the roof tune-up was a little frustrating because he was so busy.   When Titus from Detwiler roofing came, he did apologize for the inconvenience in scheduling the appt.   He inspected the roof for any repairs and found a few minor things which he took care of at that time.  I paid $79.00 for a roof tune-up and with that received $100.00 repair credit, and I feel I got my monies worth.  He went over all the things that he checked and I felt he was very honest with me re: how much time I had left before my roof would most likely need replaced.   Last year I did get a few quotes re: a new roof and he basically told me what one of the other roofing companies had said.

Courteous, professional, responded promptly and provided great service.
