My husband was not told that he could not use a credit card to pay and had to drive the twenty miles back home and back to the shop with his checkbook. So make sure you have cash or a checkbook in order to pay for services.

Rick took the time to make sure our Grandfather clock is running exactly on time and to explain the best way to wind and take care of it. Description of Work: It blows my mind thay an alleged professional clock repairer would work on a clock and return it to the customer when he knows it is not keeping time correctly. Since it was kept longer than promised I just wanted it back.

 + -1 moreThe shop smells heavy of cigarette smoke, so I know I don't want my clock there for any length of time. After dropping and breaking parts of the clock, he reset the hour hand and told me all was well. Jeff talks A LOT! It was a struggle to get out of the shop...thankfully the phone rang. The first impression did not go well with him dropping the clocks' back and breaking a piece of decorative wood. When I got home, set up the clock, the hour hand worked for a few hours, then loosened and dropped. Apparently, the work Jeff did was not to last long!
Description of Work: Went to him to fix the hour hand of my cuckoo clock. He was kind enough to look at it while I was there, but dropped the back of the clock, broke a piece of the decorative wood, and said he fixed the hour hand. Because of the drop and break, he told me there was no charge to fix the hour hand. Once home, the hour hand dropped and didn't work. Once again, I am looking for a person to repair the clock.

Jeff did determine there were some issues with previous repairs that needed to be corrected at some point - but he got the clock running. I plan to contact him in the future to have the necessary repairs made.

He then gave me excellent instructions on how to adjust time and care for the clock (I had inherited the clock from my late Father). Very professional and reasonably priced to maintain a family heirloom.
