Our service technician was very professional and went above and beyond to identify the problem with our electric system.  Other companies have come to our home and ran though a few standard tests, but SEC went above and beyond.  Very personable and friendly.

The electrician arrived within 30 minutes of our call. He diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes. A power surge outage that needed the electrical company. He told us how to deal with them and his advice proved extremely useful and saved us money.

They were good and everything went well. The electrician was great and very friendly and nice He answered all my questions. They got the job done in a couple of hours. I called them back because it wasn’t working and they came right back and re-did it because they used the wrong part. They got the job competed in 2 days. The cleanup was fine.

They provided all materials and supplies.  The job was completed neatly and professionally and the serviceman answered all questions during the call.  He then provided a test of the system electrical backup capabilities.  Overall I was well pleased, but discovered that extended warranty service protection was quite costly and offered no major advantages over having the service maintenance done professionally each year.  To do it myself would save some money but the existing warranty "high suggested" it be done professionally in order to keep the warranty coverage in effective (for the included 3-year period).  I thought the price of $250 was quite high for an oil and oil filter change, spark plug change, air filter change and electrical system check.  I may shop around for a better price by another authorized dealer in the area.

They finished the job to our satisfaction. We have yet to have it inspected, though, but I trust that it will pass. However, they did underestimate the complexity of our knob&tube, which originates from 1926 but is so complex and expansive that we basically did not need new outlets (except a few), just replacements. Anyway, it took them a day longer than originally scheduled (four instead of three days), and along the way they were a little sloppy with documenting what wire went where, so some circuits they managed to get working only after several hours of try-and-error. That wasn't exactly the pinnacle of professionalism, but they straightened it out after all -- and went out of their way to accommodate a few extra issues we had beyond the original estimate. So, since our house's old wiring was very eccentric, I'm not holding that up against them.
update ( Jan 5, 2013): The inspector was pleased with the job and okayed it.
