The Handyman Group LLC of New Cumberland

I was given reached out to by this company in regards to by my project. Upon explaining the job to Lisa, I was questioned about why I didn't want the cable company to do the electrical work (really none of their concern). After discussing everything through text, I was told the estimator would be at the home at 1. After waiting for 40 minutes for the estimator to arrive, I texted Lisa asking where he was and she informed me my appointment was at 2 instead of 1. When I sent her screenshots confirming that we previously agreed on 1 and apologized for the misunderstanding. While I indicated it wasn't a misunderstanding on my part she then offered a 10% off our estimate. (which I appreciated the attempt to make it right) After the estimator came, he quickly went through each room, wrote a few notes and wouldn't give me any pricing ideas of what it would cost when I asked. It felt very rushed compared to others that came out. Even when explaining what we would like done and that we were trying to get quotes from multiple companies for comparison so that we would be happy with the quality and price of who we choose, he was asking me questions that really didn't concern him. (I didn't feel that was too professional) The appointment was on Monday, it is now Friday and I have not received any estimate. I reached out to Lisa for an update and was then told that "he" decided to pass on my job. When asked what the reasoning was, I was told "He's too busy and can't squeeze you in anywhere for at least a month". This is sad when last week I asked about availability, the story I received was that they could fit us in before the 29th and would be tied up for 2 1/2 weeks. It was very concerning to me that they questioned me on jobs I would like to have done, why I was getting multiple quotes (or why I didn't get a quote from a handyman I used in the past, which I did and told him that), were late to the agreed upon time for the appointment for estimate and then failed to even communicate that they were going to pass on the job shows me that they are not the right company to do business with. I do not believe they were completely honest with me and I would not recommend for future jobs.

My sinks had build of up "scum" from toothpaste which was causing a slow drain. I did't want to have to remove my pipes and scrub the insides (gross!) so I wanted to have someone replace the sink stopper and pipes in order to clear out the drain and avoid the slow drain.  Handyman Services of New Cumberland came out to do this service on a Saturday and charged me $200.00.  Their handyman left and moments later we realized that the sinks were now draining even MORE slowly than before he replaced all the parts. In addition, he did not tighten the "J" piping which was  causing water to leak underneath our sinks.  We called the service office to tell them this and they sent their handyman back out to do the job correctly. When he came back the next day he tightened the pipes that he "forgot" to tighten upon installation, and told us there wasn't anything he could do about the now increased drain problem and that we should contact Roto Roooter to snake our pipes.
We did just that several weeks later. When the Roto Rooter man came, he snaked our pipes, but stated that when The Handyman Services of New Cumberland replaced the piping he somehow caused damage to our draining system that forced air into the pipes and the Roto Rooter man doesn't know how to fix the damage that was done.  I paid the Roto Rooter man $363.00 for this service. In total, I paid $563 to have my sinks cleared, cleaned, and to speed up the draining process, only for permanent damage to be done to my bathroom sinks.
I called Lisa Rosati at Handyman Services of New Cumberland. She is their manager.  I told her that we followed their advice and contacted Roto Rooter man and I relayed the information he gave me about the damage to the pipes.  I requested my money back.  At this point, Ms. Rosati began YELLING  at me about the fact that I am completely wrong.  She reminded me that they sent their technician out again (because he didn't do it correctly the first time) and that her business is impeachable and that they do not provide refunds for work already completed.  She wouldn't let me speak and was incredibly combative, rude, and unprofessional.  In addition to ripping me off of a large quantity of money and damaging my piping, she screamed at me on a tirade for about six minutes till I hung the phone up.
In summary, the service promised and paid for WAS NOT provided by The Handyman Services of New Cumberland.  In fact, they  made our drain/pipe situation in our bathroom sinks MUCH WORSE!  This business is unprofessional, useless, and destructive. I am filing with The Better Business Bureau for the $200 this company took from me in exchange for damaging my sinks further.
