We requested an estimate for a new concrete floor in a new garage. Since the garage was in the midst of being built, based on our specs, they provided a ballpark figure. When the garage was complete, they visited the site and said that the cost was going to significantly more than what was quoted. (Obviously the estimate was a ballpark, and we understood that.) When asked how much more, they were unable to give a figure. We were told "not really sure". I didn't have a good feeling about the conversation, they were critical of the builders (who were still on-site finishing the job). Very unprofessional. We did receive a call later in the day and were given a new figure close to $1000 over what was originally quoted, which I felt was considerably out of ballpark range on a $4500 job). I am not making comment on the quality of work as we didn't get past the estimate phase, another company was chosen to do the work.
