I should have know better when I was blown off for appointment at first time to get an estimate. It was around the holidays so I cut him a break though. That was my first mistake. This guy is totally unreliable and comes up with excuses and tells outright lies. He was desperate for the deposit and talked a good game until it was time to do the work. I paid half up from and was given excuse after excuse why he couldn’t show up to work. We re-arranged our schedules multiple times for him not to even show up! He even tried to play the COVID card and said he had COVID when I was with him less than night before and he was fine. He claimed to have taken a home test for COVID but when I told him I wanted the deposit back he wanted to come the next day. Which it is always the next day with him. He also started to question the quality of job he could perform after he previously said it would be no problem. I am doubting he has much handyman skills now. He did offered the money back but couldn’t come up with it until the the end of the month. The end of the month came and he gave another excuse to why he couldn’t come up with the money. The deposit was $250 dollars. What businessman can’t come up with that? The whole ordeal was unprofessional and exactly what I was trying to avoid using Angi. I haven’t got the money back yet and feel like I got scammed! I will end up taking him to small claims if I must. It really the principle of the matter to me. It has been one lie after another with him from doing the job and returning the deposit. Take my advice and save your self time, money, and a headache by hiring someone else.
