Don, owner of Potts Plumbing is excellent. He's very efficient, knowledgable, very responsive, and extremely fair. He had all of my plumbing issues corrected by lunch time. Don does quality work. I will use Potts Plumbing again anytime I need.

Don came highly recommended by my friend who had him install all the plumbing in his new house.  I have had Don work at my house four times over the last two years.  Each time the price has been fair, the work very good.  Don is great at explaining what needs done and listening to homeowner concerns.
The other reviewer here who thinks Don's hourly rate is high thinks like an employee, not a business owner. The rate charged by Potts Plumbing and other professionals is to cover their pay, profit, operating expenses, taxes, insurance, and other costs that go into owning a business.
I plan to install an upstairs bathroom, a new water heater, and other improvements in the future. For the plumbing I will contact Potts Plumbing.

Terribly...Mr.Potts must think I am made of gold. He charges $80 an hour. Not even
professional engineers make $80 an hour. I have rented out my family
home to a really sweet young lady who takes really good care of the
house and property. The handyman we usually use for repairs has been
working extra hours at his day job, so he was unable to do this simple
plumbing job. I would have bought the parts and he would have charged me
$20 an hour or so for so for his time. The parts would have been half
this price and the labor would have been $60 an hour less. We are
neighbors for goodness sakes! He charged us $279.98 for a simple
replacement of a kitchen sink fixture that was leaking. Whoa! Don't be
stupid like me. Stay far, far away from this person. This is the last
time I will EVER use him for a plumbing job. I had to contact him myself
just to get him to show up to do the job because my sweet tenant had
contacted me several times about the leaking sink and he wasn't getting
back to her although he promised every time First, he was going to be
there next week,, then no show, then he was going to be there the next
week, then no show, then he was out of the country on vacation, then no
show.( Well, sure he was..if you made $80 an hour, you would be out of
the country on vacation too!) I finally tracked him down myself, chewed
him out for being a no show and made a firm appointment for him to fix
the poor lady's kitchen faucet. Wow, I really must have made him angry
and he took out his pound of flesh in the money he charged for a simple
fix. The total cost of the fix was over half of the poor lady's rent
check. I had her take it our of the rent as it is my responsibility to
make sure everything is working well for my renters. I wish Potts took
his responsibilities as seriously as I do mine. Be smart. Don't use this
plumber. I sure won't EVER again and he only lives a mile or less away
from my family home in PA.

The experience was excellent. They arrived when they said they were going to arrive and performed the work as we agreed and in the time frame that we agreed on. They got the job done and everything was good. I would recommend them.

They were good and they were prompt. But most recently, I tried to reach them again and they were too busy.  I would use them again if I was able to get on their schedule.

My neighbor discovered a gas leak around my meter. After the gas company turned-off my gas, I called Mr. Potts who came out with his son. (Because this was a home emergency, I selected the first well-rated, local plumber whom I found on Angie's List (AL); and this was my first experience using AL to find a service provider.) Mr. Potts disovered a corroded part and told me that I needed a new meter. He also suggested moving my meter away from the road and up against my house. He advised me that he needed to hire a subcontractor with equipment to dig up the bushes around my meter, which he told me in advance would cost an additional $600. I agreed that the cost was fair, and he got someone out to my house with the needed equipment right away. I was concerned that the temperature was supposed to go down to freezing that night, since I was recovering from surgery at the time; and live alone. But Mr. Potts, his son and his sub-contactor were very prompt; and my gas service was restored within 24 hours; so I had heat that chilly night. Because he had to remove part of a concrete slab in front of my house to connect the new meter, Mr. Potts told me that once I was ready to repour the concrete, he would have to return to install a vent pipe; so that gas does not build up under the slab. I would have preferred that the pipe was installed at the time that the meter was installed; but I don't know if this would have been doable or the best approach. Overall, I was very pleased with Mr. Potts responsiveness and service; and both he and his son were very pleasant and courteous.

The business was very good at staying in touch with and updating us on the service dates.  They were also very easy to get a hold of.  They worked with us on price.  This business was the only one that followed up with us on a quote we were given.

Gas service was turned off a few days before Thanksgiving due to a leak in the outside line. Don Potts came out to look at the job the next day (in the dark and the rain) and was able to start work the day after Thanksgiving first thing in the morning. They tried to slip the new line through the old piping, but it was blocked and wouldn't go through. Also, the old pipe came into the house under an addition, so they couldn't excavate to find the blockage on that end. They needed to dig about 100ft of trench to the house (around a tree and a deck), which they did by hand because a ditch-digger wouldn't be able to access the area. So, the expected half day of work turned into a day and a half on the holiday weekend. He also found a small leak in the inside pipe that the gas company missed and capped off a line to an old appliance. When the old furnace woudn't start after the gas was turned back on, he went out and bought a new part to install and called a fellow contractor to set up a service visit (not his job and much appreciated!) He explained everything in detail as he went and the quality of his work was excellent.
