The sidewalks in our neighborhood were old and cracking, so our township directed they be replaced or repaired. We chose to replace as ours were in pretty bad shape (the original concrete mix was crappy and the slabs were poured over dirt (no gravel). Our neighbor hired Geesaman for his project, so we decided to go with him as well mainly so the sidewalks would match. During our project, I had an opportunity to watch the work of a lot of other contractors throughout the development, so I could compare timeliness, work quality and results. Geezaman runs a first class operation. Work started promptly every morning, his helpers were polite and experienced, and the quality of work was excellent and promptly completed. Surveying the different jobs in the area, our sidewalk is easily the most attractive and well poured. He doesn't use a lot of fancy equipment, just what's needed to get the job done. Dirt was shoveled into buckets and saved for restoration, as opposed to some contractors who would just shovel it onto the grass next to the sidewalk. Concrete work is hard work, and it was instructive to watch the care with which the concrete was poured, screeded and finished -- not that I'm ever likely to try it myself. Although it was expensive, I feel we got a first class result and I am satisfied.
