We actually had a fire. Flames were shooting from one of the outlets. We got lucky- caught it early. No major damage. But we called Bob and he rearranged his schedule so he could come over the next morning. How bout that! 
Checked everything over to make sure it was ok. He found the cause and fixed it. Also found a few other problem areas and fixed them.
Then he added a surge protector to the main and added the backyard lighting- some things we'd talked about doing for a while.
It all cost about $800. Seems pretty reasonable for the peace of mind we have now. 

Here's an update.
UGI came to replace a broken glass meter cover and noticed that work had been done. They sent over an electrical inspector to check all the new stuff and to see that it all had been done to code. Guess what- there were issues that needed to be corrected. Nothing major, just a few things not done to code. I called Bob to come and do whatever needed to be done. He never came. I called repeatedly. Even saw him face to face- he said he'd take care of it. Yeh, he took care of it alright. I'm facing fines from the city for problem not being corrected timely as well as fines cause Bob didn't take out a city work permit like he was supposed to, and I still need to call someone to come correct the original issues. That will cost me another few hundred I'm sure. The last time I called Bob, about two weeks ago I left him the message, "Bob, we need to get this done. You can charge me for a service call, let's just get this done". No response. Know why? Cause he's a j******. Thanks Bob.
