"I took a hose on the roof to find the leak because, I did not see anything obvious that would cause a leak. She accompanied me on the roof. It appeared to be coming in the ridge vent everytime I put water to it, and she agreed. The next day before I did repair she wanted to check it with hose again to make sure that was the problem, it leaked again, and she said to do the repair. A couple days later she called, and said it was leaking again, so I took the hose back up there it did not leak from ridge vent repair it was leaking in the valley (Where two different roof slopes meet) I then went into the attic to see if I could see leaking inside.(Which I usually do first, but she said I couldn't get to that section) I found the leak, and rotten, and moldy plywood. I then informed her that the valley shingles and plywood needed replaced a pertty substantial amount of work. I was there four times, and she did not like my diagnosis. You have to repair a roof leak properly, or it will just come back again. The only way it could have been fixed in two hours is if someone smeared tar over shingles. I typically deposit checks within a day or two of reciving them. I do my best to explain, and show customers what I am doing on their roof with pictures to insure they are satisfied. Thank you for reading."
it turned out, the sheeting was only 3/8and quot; on two foot center trusses. Jason was concerned about the sagging between trusses and the roof being bouncy. The solution was to lay a layer of 1/2 sheeting on top.
The other issues were interference between the storm door and the facia on an addition that was installed on the rear of the split entry house. Jason modified the facia and and wrapped it. He did a great professional job.
We also had the address how to install the aluminum on the sides of both roofs. The house is stone faced with the mortar against the wood facia. The solution which was more time consuming was to chip away some of the mortar and make special aluminum that had a 1/2 in flange instead of 3/4 in.
Both of these unplanned challenges turned out very well. He came up with solutions that look great.
Its been a couple months now and no leaks of course even though we've had some very hard and sustained rains in the last month. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a new roof.
