Best Buy is easy and convenient.

This was the WORST service that I have ever received from any retailer.  After we ordered online, we asked if there was any prep work that we needed to do.  Best Buy said no but based on previous experience, we purchased power cords, stacking kit and a dryer kit.
Once Best Buy was on scene, they said that they needed a washer pan to go underneath the washer before they install it, since we were in a high-rise.  We were NEVER informed of this condition.  We offered to buy one but the deliver guys didn't have one and BEST BUY does not sell it.  We authorized the Best Buy people to install both the Washer and Dryer without the pan (waiver) so they installed the dryer but not the water supply to the washer.  They told my wife, everything is installed and working.  Then the washer says it has no water.
We call Best Buy to get them to come back to install it.  They said that they cannot install it without the WASHER PAN and the next available appointment was June 9th (10 days after the faulty install).  My wife spends 4 hours on the phone with them to get them to fix it or remove it.  They hung up on her 4 times....but we are persistent.
They came back one day later to install the washer pan that we bought from Lowes.  They concluded that our washer didn't need a pan as there was no drain hole at the bottom of it.
I spend about $20,000 / year at Best Buy.  That business is all going somewhere else.  Don't buy appliance from Best Buy.  End of Story.

I do not have any problems with the HP appliance I purchased from Best Buy. Their price was less expensive than other quotations.

We brought a laptop infected with said particularly troublesome virus in to the Waterfront Geek Squad / Best Buy for repair. (We usually fix such problems ourselves, but the victim was an easily portable laptop and we were feeling lazy.) To no one's surprise, the quick-and-easy scrubbing tools available at the counter were no help, so we paid a flat $200 fee for repair a left it there. (We skipped paying extra for backup or data recovery options, as should anyone who has the sense to keep backups.) Turnaround was supposed to be a week; the repair actually took closer to two weeks, but the computer came back working fine, so we didn't much care about a few extra days. Almost a year has passed with no recurrence of the infection, so I'd rate the repair a success, and certainly worth $200 to anyone who attaches average value to his time or sanity.

The sales clerk was clueless as to what I would need for venting the dryer. The delivery man was punctual and polite and they did plug in the dryer, but I was not able to use it because I did not have the appropriate venting items. I had to call an appliance repairman to finish the work. He came and installed what I needed and made sure the machine was leveled. I had to pay him an additional $70.00. That was on top of the delivery charge that I paid Best Buy to deliver and install my dryer. I complained to Best Buy and if fell on deaf ears.

They were on time and spent a good amount of time fixing everything. It was expensive, but worth it to have the computer repaired.

The purchase process was excellent. The installation process was a nightmare. Best Buy contracts this to another company. I had to wait a very long time for our pedestals to be sent in, and when they finally did come in, they were not the type that we had been shown at the store. The installation required for them to reorder a new washer and dryer for us, which took much longer again.

I like the people at Best Buy. The customer service and all of the salespeople that I've had contact with have been more than cordial. I think the people here have more knowledge than those at the Circuit City place I used to go to.

THE GENTLEMAN AT BEST BUY WAS VERY IMPRESSIVE. HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HONEST. HE HAD OUR COMPUTER FIXED IN 2 DAYS JUST AS HE SAID. WE WOULD DEFINITELY BRING OUR COMPUTER HERE AGAIN.

HE CONVINCED ME I DID NOT NEED TO BUY NEW SPEAKERS. SO THEY DID NOT TRY TO SELL ME SOMETHING I DID NOT NEED. I WAS SO PLEASED I MAILED THE MANAGER A LETTER.
