Decks & More LLC

Description of Work: After calling several contractors attempting to get a quote for the installation of a deck and getting nowhere last summer, I decided to ask one of the neighbors who recently had a deck installed who he used and how he would describe the job done by the builder. He told me that he used Decks & More to build his deck. He said that he had several quotes but Decks & More was the quote that he chose based on price, time to complete, and a good feeling about the builder. He said that he was very pleased with Derek and the work crew who were always punctual and cleaned up the job site on a daily basis. The job was completed on time and per the contract price. Based on that recommendation, I contacted Decks & More and left a message. Received a call early the next day from the owner, Derek Spence. Told Derek that I was looking to have someone build the foundation for a deck and that I planned to install the decking and railings myself. Derek came to the house and reviewed the plans that I had drawn up. He told me that he had quite a backlog of work at the present time so he couldn't start immediately. That was OK with me so I waited until he had provided me with a quote for the job. After receiving the quote, I contacted Derek and told him that he had the job. Derek sent me a contract within a day or two which I signed and returned so he could get started with the permit process. Once the plans were approved and the permits were issued, the total build time from excavating for the deck piers to completion of the framework and completion of the concrete pad for the base of the stairs took only about 2 1/2 weeks. There were a couple of extra costs to the construction which I was aware of up front One of the costs was for some additional work I asked to have done and the second was additional expense incurred due to the number of large stones that had to be dug out during the excavation for the deck piers. I was very pleased with the entire build process and the fact that Derek was so cooperative and willing to entertain the several minor changes I requested for the joist spacing and other items.
