Last year, DLP had placed a paved patio and walkway on my property. The job was good except for a cracked paver that was placed during the time of installation. DLP had promised to replace the damaged stone  but a year later, the stone had not been replaced.
 I wasn't too concerned at the time as DLP had contracted to come to my home to do additional work and I assumed that the problem would be taken care of then. For the additional work, we verbally agreed on a price and 3 prospective dates. I did request a written  estimate at the time.  As the weeks went on, I requested a written estimate several times but still never got one.  DLP was not able to perform the work on the first 2 dates but he promised to complete the work on the third date(Aug 16, 2013). He even called me to tell me that he would be out on that date at 8 am and again I reminded him that I still hadn't received a  written estimate. His repIy " we agreed on a price verbally". I told him that I did not want the work started until I had something in writing.  I also brought some building materials that he had requested me to purchase prior to the work date(which I wasted money on since the work was not done). I addition, I cancelled plans to go away for the weekend to that he could do the job( I lost the money on my sleeping accomodations).
DLP never showed up to complete the the job on Aug 16 even though he promised to do so. He also did not call me to tell me that he couldn't make it. He never returned at least three subsequent phone calls and still has not replaced the damaged paver from a year ago.  I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt and thought that he might be ill so I had someone send an e mail to his website requesting a quote and he returned the e mail saying that he could do the quote the next day--so much for giving someone the benefit of the doubt. 
I'm not quite sure why he failed to show up or return my phone calls with an explanation and am also not sure why I was treated this way as I was a good customer and had a good rapport with him until this incident. I would not recommend DLP  as he failed to proplerly rectify a problem  from my last completed job and failed to follow through with his comittment to  complete prospective work.
