Jim is knowledgeable and freely shares his knowledge while working on the job without trying to sell you on other service.
I would/will definitely use Jim in the future.
AAAAAAAAA - Rating
I have had Jim do a range of other small and larger jobs previously and have always been pleased with the quality of his work and professionalism.
"[member name removed], Thanks for the excellent review. It is always a great pleasure working with/for you."
Realistically speaking Jim, owner of Ellsworth Interior Improvements, does not know what he is doing when it comes to improvements. He was hired to repair the stairs to the basement in my house. He ended up replacing the stairs. Part way through his work I questioned why the last step was so close to the basement door. He asked if this was a problem. He did make an adjustment for it. But why was it necessary? When he told me he was finished I asked why the risers and treads were not even. He asked was this a problem and that if it was he would come back to fix it. He sent someone else to fix it for him who didn't know much about stairs either. Ellsworth never called to find out if the work was done to my satisfaction and actually the last riser is still not even with the other risers. Again, if Jim knows what he is doing why would all of this be necessary? My mistake. I will never hire Jim again.
"I respectfully disagree with this customers review. I sent out a very qualified carpenter to address this customers concerns over a year and a half after the initial work was completed. The problem was addressed and the customer made no indication she was not satisfied. As a very qualified construction professional and successful business owner I try to make all efforts to leave my customers completely satisfied, however sometimes it is not possible. Please read all of my other reviews for a more accurate representation of the reputable work my company is known for."
I'm planning to use him again!
"It was a pleasure working for you and I look forward to renovating your kitchen this fall."
My wife decided to have the crown molding continued in the second floor hallway. As an add-on Jim was very fair in his pricing again. Jim also ?threw in? a few minor details that many contractors would look to as an opportunity to pad their bill, i.e. he used some of the dentil molding from the crown on our mantelpiece to tie the old woodwork in with the new, pulling new wire and installing a box for a light in the closet, etc. Once again Jim?s quality of work, professionalism, and fair pricing will be bringing him back to complete more projects in our old home.
"Thanks for the opportunity to perform this work in your historic home. Please keep me in mind for the front door project we discussed."
Jim Ellsworth's craftsmanship has no equal ? he takes great pride in his work and went the ?extra mile? to make sure everything was done to perfection and to insure we got exactly what we wanted whether it was work done by him or the sub-contractors. Jim has an eye for design and color, and we often deferred to him in matters of tile and paint color selection. His prices are very competitive. And if all this isn?t enough to get your attention then how about this: Jim is a very, very nice man and both the large dog and small cat fell
in love with him too. Having him come here was more like having a good friend or relative stop by. We are going to miss him, but we are planning to get him back in soon to remodel our upstairs bathroom!
"It was a pleasure working with [removed member name]. Thank you for such an excellent review. I look forward to renovating your second floor bathroom this summer."
He responded quickly to the request for an estimate; stopping by the same day and having a detailed proposal to me in 2 days. The estimate was competitively priced and covered the job in detail.
Jim and his employee John showed great consideration while on the job. They were punctual, kept a clean workspace, and were very considerate of trying to keep the mess of demolition and sanding contained. I have seen many home repair/improvement projects and the quality of their work was second to none.
The electrical work and using a buildup crown, as opposed to the off the shelf pieces quoted in the original estimate, were add-ons after the project was started. The price for these extras was very fair compared to some of my past experiences with other contractors.
We will be using Jim again in the near future. As soon as the holidays are past he will be back to install matching crown on the
remaining first floor, repair a wall that has collapsing plaster, installing a closet, and moving a basement door to accommodate the new closet.
"It was great working with you. I'll see you in 2013 to complete the rest of the work we discussed."
"(member name removed), as a long term customer it is always my pleasure to work for you. I am sure we'll work together again."
"My pleasure to help you make an informed decision on whether to purchase this house or not. Good luck in your continued search."
"It's always my pleasure working for you (removed member name)."
