He was prompt and very friendly when he stopped for information to quote the house.  He quoted a very good price to upgrade the fuse box to a breaker box, but did not feel comfortable rewiring the entire house.  He was very honest with his reasoning.  Although I will probably not be using him for this extensive of a project, should I ever need electrical help on a smaller scale, I will definitely contact him for a quote.

The kitchen is in a new addition to an old house, built around 1895, the addition made in 1997. The appliance (an electric range) needed a 220 volt, 60 amp line. I was hoping that the range could be connected to the sub panel that served the addition to the house. Unfortunately, the capacity of the sub-panel was only 60 amps, so though we could have worked around the voltage capacity, it appeared that the line out to the sub-panel was too puny.
The gentleman from Nau Electric ran a nice fat line out to the kitchen (which cost roughly half the money), and connected it up to the kitchen, using the connecting hardware my wife and I had bought beforehand. This has worked out well, since the new range would have triggered the trip switch on the sub panel very frequently indeed.
Their rates are not low; I am fairly certain that at least one other contractor would have provided the same service for somewhat less. But the quality of work was faultless. I have to say that all three providers who have worked on our home over the last 5 years have been excellent; I wish I remembered their names, so that I can endorse them all!

I go there as often as I can. This is an old hardware store that has been around for quite a long time. Unlike the big box stores like Lowe's and such, they know what you need and know where to find it. If you don't know what you might need, they will help you figure it out. Customer service is a big deal to them and I really appreciate. If you stand there for 30 seconds, someone will come to help you. They are familiar with their stock and know where to find it. Their prices are comparable with other stores. They are also very good at mixing good quality paints. I have had them make keys and they do that well.
