I go to the store often enough. Their service is not as good as it could be. Their people are not as knowledgeable as they should be. Otherwise they're fine for what they do. They need more knowledgeable employees.

Customer service representative became our advocate and resolved problem. Found another installer quickly and had the job done right. Would do purchases through this store just because of their attention to doing the job right and making sure the customer was satisfied afterwards. Really top notch folks.

Everything from the initial visit by the sales rep from Home Depot to the final installation was done to our expectations. The cost was up there but it was from other competitors as well. All our windows that were replaced were 25 years old and the base sills had either warped or rotted due to lack of a slope of our outer brick sills beneath the windows. They pointed this out to us as we had never noticed that they were flat and therefore could not allow water to drain away from the window in heavy wind driven rains against those windows.
They were patient with us as we asked to have the initial installation date postponed until after the winter as the original install date in November was quite chilly and windy. Any questions we had beforehand were answered promptly and courteously.
At the time of the new date for installation, the installer arrived as scheduled and began the process of removing each of the old windows and then replacing them with the new. It was a laborious process and he worked well into the dark of the evening to complete the job. All caulking was done professionally and the finished product looked great, inside and out. This was not a project we were wanting to have done, but the Home Depot Andersen Window division handled everything as promised and backs it up with a warranty. A representative from Corporate Headquarters made sure that we were satisfied with the work in its entirety before the installer could sign off. All and all happy and relieved it is all done and done well.

I was not pleased with the cabinets. I had to call back 3-4 times to come out and redo the work. I had to special order them and I payed a good price and I was not satisified. The flooring and tile is okay but I would not reccomend that anyone purchases cabinets from them.

When you deal with Home Depot you deal with a huge corporation who use subcontractors that often have subcontractors of their own.The experience is somewhat like being in the grip of an octopus with many tentacles where no one tentacle knows what the other tentacle is doing. I used the Home Depot on Columbus Blvd. in South Philadelphia. It doesn't really matter which store you use because they all use the same subcontractors; at least within a given locality. Your experience will very much depend on which contractor you get. For example we also had Home Depot reface our cabinets which went very well but that was an entirely different sub contractor.
We informed Home Depot when we started this job in August that it absolutely had to be completed by 10/8 or we would be dropped by our homeowner’s insurance. We told them if they could not complete the job by that date they might as well not bother. We repeated this to the subcontractor (USIG) who were sent out to install the flooring we ordered at the end of August
The flooring was delivered 3 weeks before USIG called to schedule an installation and just sat in the middle of our living room. Right off the bat our project was running three weeks behind schedule.
09/24/13 Fred from USIG came to install the floor and told me he found a problem with the subfloor. Both Fred and Jen from USIG informed me that Home Depot does not do subfloors. The lesson here is to NEVER hire a contractor who will not take responsibility for doing the whole job. Of course neither Home Depot or USIG informed us about this up front so how could we know it would be a problem? I told Fred to remove the rest of the subfloor and make sure there were no other problems with the subfloor that had to be addressed. Fred removed the existing flooring and said he found no other problems. I had to find another contractor to fix the subfloor then call USIG to come back and finish the installation.
Miraculously I found a contractor to come out and look at the subfloor that day. Stewart from Brothers Home Repair took the job and said he would be out to fix the subfloor Friday or Monday.
09/27/13
Stewart from Brothers Home Repair replaced the pieces of the subfloor that had been identified by Fred as needing to be replaced.
10/1/13
USIG did not return to continue the job until 10/1/13. My wife took the day off to supervise construction. She called me at work to inform me that the new contractor Jensen told her there was still a problem with the subfloor that would require an
additional day and more money to repair. He said the nails used on the subfloor were not secure enough and he would have to remove them and secure the subfloor with screws. (What happened to "we don't do subfoors"?} He was also going to apply leveling compound to level the floor. I became quite irate and let Jen and Jenson know that Fred had not identified the nails as being a problem and that USIG had cost me another wasted week during which work could have been done. Meanwhile the insurance company deadline was now only 8 days away. Jen apologized profusely. Tim and Jack Managers from USIG were sent to assess the situation and everyone agreed work would be completed on Thursday October 3rd and Sunday October 6th.
10/3/2013
On the morning of Thursday October 3rd I got a call from Jen who said Jensen would be out between 8 and 10. Jensen asked Jen if we had picked up the supplies he would need from Home Depot to complete the job. I replied that my wife had been contacted by Home Depot and paid for the supplies with a credit card and that Home Depot told her the contractor would pick them up himself on the way to the job. A few hours later I received another call from Jen informing me that Jensen had an emergency and could not complete the job.
I called our Home Depot “Project Manager” on the job to inform him of the new hold up and was informed he was out until Tuesday. Home Depot staff at the Columbus Blvd. in South Philadelphia were incapable of connecting me with his voice mail so I could not leave him a message. Calling the store was a complete waste of time. They were completely incompetent and could not help me.
My wife spoke with Jen at the end of the day. Jen assured her she was doing everything possible to try and get a contractor to complete the job before 10/8. She said she was working on getting Jensen to come finish the floors Saturday and Sunday but she couldn't promise. We never saw Jensen again.
A contractor named Scott finally came out and was able to complete the majority of the installation one day before the insurance company deadline. He said the subfloor was fine and didn't need the nails and leveler that Jensen had insisted we pay for up front. He told us there was still one area by the basement where the subfloor was not level and the flooring needed to be
re-installed using leveler but that he could not complete the job that day. The stair nose also still needed to be installed. I asked Scott to please try and make sure he was the one to come back and finish the installation because he was the one who had
done the work. He said he was not responsible for the scheduling but he would try. We never saw Scott
again.
I was now speaking with someone named Tim about the scheduling. I asked Tim to please get the same installer (Scott) to come back and finish the job. Tim said he would try to get Scott to come back and finish the job. When I called him again he told me that Scott had gone back to Florida and would not be able to finish the job. Finally Tim told me we would have to wait until 10/18 before a USIG Installer could come out to our house. I reminded Tim that we had already paid for time and materials for the extra work up front and that whoever came would need to bring leveler. I also told him we needed a refund for all the work Jensen billed us for up front that was never completed. An installer named Mike was supposed to come out on Friday 10/18 between 4 and 6. He finally arrived at 7:30 Friday night and finished the job.
This job caused me a lot of wasted time and a lot of aggravation. It was about as much fun as having a root canal with no anesthetic. USIG is very disorganized and not customer service oriented. It’s ridiculous that it took them two months to install a click and lock hardwood floor. I would not use them again for anything.

I thought they were wonderful to work with. I had a very positive experience with them buying cabinetry. I thought they were very honest and had my best interest at heart. They told me how I could save money, and do a better job. Also, they told me what's the best way to spend my money, and get the best thing. It took place quite a few years ago. I like the fact that they were telling me how I could save money, what are the best options to get, and which options are to avoid if money is tight. They gave me good advice. My overall experience with them was very good! They did a very tremendous amount of home work. They were not the cheapest, but they were the best value. When I need them, they come right away. I got no issues with them at all!

I just love their responsiveness over here in the Sanatoga area. They were very good. We had a flood a few years ago in our house, the half bathroom let loose and no one was around, I was back in the pool, and a few hours of running did a disaster to the house.
Instead of just doing a partial replacement, we did a total replacement, and they came with a good price and my wife went back and my daughter and they changed the ideas, and they just worked with you on all the solutions to fit within your budget.
We ended up remodelling the first floor, they actually did everything we got with them, tile, and flooring. Everything was done by Home Depot. We got carpet from them and tile flooring too.
One thing, especially this one here, it's like going into a Ma and Pa hardware store. Whenever you need help there is always somebody there close by to assist you. That's the most important thing. And they are all knowledgeable in the different departments. And if they didn't know, they'd get somebody that did. A lot of the people there are in early retirement, who have been in the business, and now working there. I find them really helpful.

They also did part of a smaller bathroom we have. The quality of the material was very good. The work was done well. The only issue I had with Home Depot was that the person who installed the dishwasher thought it could have been done in about a half hour. The door of the dishwasher had been racked and it wouldn’t fit. I had to deal with both Home Depot and the GE manufacture since they were blaming one another and they left the problem on me to deal with. Neither company took the responsibility. I ended up writing letters to both the president and senior counselors to get the issue fixed. They came out with a new dishwasher, unfortunate the dishwasher #2 was dropped when it was delivered. I was given the option to accept the second dishwasher or not. They did bring me a new dishwasher a month later. I also had curtains that had a lot of folds and a valance. I tore them out and Home Depot put in venetian blinds. I had no problem and their prices were great. The subcontractor installed them. She did the work in about 2 hours and they have been fine.

THE HOME DEPOT MADE OUR HOME REMODELING PROJECTS SEEM EASY. THEY TOOK THE TIME TO VISIT OUR HOME AND UNDERSTAND THE LOOK WE WANTED AT THE END OF EACH PROJECT. THEY NEVER RUSHED US TO MAKE DECISIONS. THEY MADE EVERY APPOINTMENT, DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION ON TIME. WE HAVE USED THEM FOR MULTIPLE PROJECTS AROUND THE HOUSE AND WOULD CONTINUE TO DO USE THEM AGAIN. WE HIGHLY RECCOMMEND THEM.
