Pittsburgh Pet Concierge is a Full Service Pet Care Business we specialize in one on one attention to your pet. We offer Boarding for dogs, cat boarding (cat's lodging always includes fully furnished bedrooms (human included), our home based pet resort is also well equipped to safely watch over a variety of other pet's. At home services are also available. We know it is not easy to leave your Pet(s) overnight so we always keep you fully updated with daily journals which include photos and videos sent to your email or phone you can also call or text anytime. We also have a Doggy and Pet Daycare Program that operates 7 days per week (daily journals and photos always included.) We have Large, small, and one on one play groups. We also offer an array of other Pet Care services such as Cognitive Dog & Pet Training (by appointment), Water Based Physical Therapy for Dog's (by appointment), Dog Walking, & Pet Taxi Transportation Services. We also feature our award winning Pet Spa with deluxe Dog Bathing and nail trims. Our Pet Resort is an accredited, highly rated, and award winning pet resort. We are an insured pet care facility and Licensed by the PA Department of Agriculture. We are certified in animal first aid and CPR, fully trained to care for a pet that is special needs (mentally and or physically), and are always able to administer oral and injectable medications. New pet meet and greets are normal for this type of service. We booked a meet and greet with a different provider last week and it went great. Mainly, I am bringing this forward as a point of caution on communication. Sorry, PPC, but you really need to work on first impressions. Non-existent or conflicting contact doesn't do a lot to build trust. If I had to offer a suggestion it would be to pick up the phone and call potential customers, set the tone and expectation to meet if not to build business to avoid doubt.
"We do understand your statement, however, our main priority is the animals under our care. Our main priority is not carrying a phone around waiting for it to ring. If that were our priority, that would indicate that the animals under our care are not important. We provide round the clock care, 24/7. We care for senior animals that sometimes require 8 to 10 medications a day. We are not a large facility housing 150 dogs. The important aspect is that there is a 24/7 answering service. Clients are not sent to a voicemail. An answering service is utilized so that clients can communicate with us quickly, and potential clients will be called back in the time stated. Also, new clients can email or even text as stated on our site, and we usually respond within 15 minutes. Thank you for the input, we specialize in animal care, and since we truly do our job to the fullest, we cannot pick up the phone every time it rings, but we do and always get back to clients in fashionable time."
These folks really are concerned and understanding about the animals in their care. It's a very professional operation and is well-run. The dogs have the run of the house and are not kept in cages. When Bob and his staff weren't too busy taking care of their little customers, they would email me a daily report on Duke's activities, such as if he ate, if he drank plenty of water, if he pooped, how he slept, if he relaxed, how he responded to the other dogs, how his daily walks went, what he liked to do outside (lay in the sun), etc. These reports reassured me that Duke was having the time of his life! They'd also send photos of Duke playing with his new friends.
Bob, the owner, gets back to you as quickly as possible and answers all your questions. I also liked how he worked with me on the price for Duke's care since he was staying for a long period of time.
Too bad this isn't the summertime because then I would pay to have Duke enjoy the pool! (He just learned to swim last summer.)
You don't have to worry about your pet being in the care of Bob and his staff. They take care of your pets like they were their own animals.
I can't highly recommend Pittsburgh Pet Concierge enough. You won't be disappointed with the services they provide your pet. They also have doggie daycare and grooming available for pets that don't stay overnight.
I would trust Bob and his staff with Duke any time!

Both Bob and Sonya have been excellent with our puppy. When we get him ready for daycare, he gets excited to get into the car for his "school". He runs right in when we arrive and seems very happy to be there. He's very tired by the end of the day and enjoys playtime with the other puppies and dogs at the daycare. Bob is very careful as far as which puppies are allowed to play with whom. Our pup has one go-to friend but Bob has been working to get him acquainted with other dogs there as well.
The facility is very clean and nice. There is plenty of room for the dogs to move around and play inside, as well as a nice securely fenced-in yard outside. Even during this awful winter, the dogs were able to have a lot of fun and play outside (for limited time periods on days when it's been cold). We were able to see a cute video of our pup playing with his new friend, posted on their Faecbook page!
I am very happy we decided to use the Pet Concierge and would recommend them to anyone I know.

1.) First time I used them I requested a text after each visit just to let me know everything was ok. I did not receive any communications till after the last visit.
2.) The owner is very difficult to get ahold of via phone. He is pretty responsive to email.
