Very well. The service included attic, living area, basement, garage, and crawl space inspection for termites. A one year follow up inspection is included in the treatment price. An inspector came after our initial call, and the service was performed on a Saturday. Two weeks later, I saw some termite activity. I called to question my observations, and the branch manager Greg came to my house that day. I thought that the entire experience was very responsive to the customer. The initial inspector Doug, the sprayer "Dusty", and the branch manager Greg were all very professional.

Orkin claims to be experts in Ticks as well as a variety of other pests. This is stated in black-and-white on the website. I was very disappointed to discover upon calling about a possible infestation of deer ticks in my house that both the tech who was assigned to me as well as his supervisor both knew very little about ticks, and in the end I had to do all of the research myself and basically educate and force them to do what they had to do because instead of taking the initiative and making sure they did it right they kind of blew me off, attempted to proceed as though they knew what they were doing when they clearly did not and tried to claim that the type of tick I was concerned about was not what I had in my house. Basically the exterminator I originally dealt with tried to pull one over on me with information that was inaccurate and a lack of effort to really address the issue seriously which I found highly insulting because it was very transparent and I then had to address that which is awkward. The tick variety I had my exterminator described as and quot;you know, a regular tickand quot;. and quot; What kind of tick though? There are many kinds!and quot; I replied. and quot;A regular dog tickand quot;. He stammered. He had no idea what he was talking about. Because Lyme disease is such a terrible illness I feel it is very important to know what you're talking about and to make sure that you identify the tick correctly, but Orkin didn't seem to have the same concerns as I did which was irritating. This was my health we were talking about and they are supposed to be experts which I feel should mean in the least they would understand the importance of knowing whether the bug in your house could cause you to be sick the rest of your life or not. At least they should have done the research themselves instead of winging it. My exterminator seemed to think that it was no big deal, often talking to me as though I was overreacting and being silly which I found very disrespectful. I mean he was very condescending and belittling which his supervisor apologize for but that did not make me feel better since the supervisor didn't know much more than my regular exterminator. See, my cat had come home after sleeping in a nest of ticks and he was covered in them from every stage of development, some so tiny that you could only see them by zooming in on a photograph of which I had many, and did all kinds of research. Ticks can get into the cracks of the floors and reproduce and hibernate and you can have a problem so huge before you even know what's happening. They have lidocaine in their feet so you cannot feel them crawling on you and they are attracted to the carbon monoxide or in your breath which draws them to you so they can stick half their body in you with hooked barbs and drink your blood until they get so nasty and fat they fall out like little marbles with feet. I had no idea how many of these had fallen off of my cat in and around my house and I was terrified. I knew I was in trouble when the guy assigned to my case claimed that ticks don't bite people and I ended up having to insist they do everything that they did and follow up when they did not follow up. I felt that the situation was not taken seriously and in the end upon my nagging, an entomologist to whom they had sent samples I'd saved from my home told them I was correct in that they were deer ticks, and even worse they very well could have gone into the walls of my house and serious steps had to be taken. I had to push the furniture in every single room into the middle of the floor so that they could come to drill a hole every two feet around the base of every wall in my house and spray. They were meant to return a couple of months later to refill those holes. Well I still have the holes in my walls because they seemed to believe that the job was done, forgetting the plan we had put in place, and I was tired of living with the furniture in the middle of every room so I pushed it all back against the wall and I'm not really excited to push it into the middle of the room again. I wish they had just returned to refill the holes like they were supposed to without any hassle because at the time I was so exhausted from the whole thing I just didn't force the issue, (I had been living with my parents this whole time, and they had been on my case almost every day about when this is going to wrap up) and now I have holes around the bottom of every room. I still use Orkin today just to spray for spiders inside my house and to treat my yard for ticks because that, I believe they can handle, as I have not had a problem since. However I would not call them for anything big. It's possible that my tick issue is gone because I gave my cat away and he doesn't bring them inside anymore. I guess I would say call Orkin at your own risk. In the last six months I will add, I left at least two messages on the overnight voicemail about issues like hearing a scratching sound in the ceiling of my basement and never received a call back. Honestly I'm not sure why I still use Orkin even for little things. The tech assigned to me today by the way is a really awesome upstanding guy named Ray and he deserves recognition. If you can get Ray I would ask for him. If you ask at all that is.

When we bought our house in 2012 we had an issue with carpenter ants, which were treated, but we had to continue the treatment for a year to keep the problem away. Every other month for a year Orkin came and took care of the problem. The nice thing was they also took care of other insect problems. So when we had wasp nests on our deck they also got rid of the problem. At first I thought it was a little expensive, but for peace of mind not to have any insect problems this is a great option. After treating our house and the perimeter for a year we are now on a seasonal treatment package, which means during the late fall and winter months we do not use their service and of course do not pay, but they will start again in the spring. This is a great option and we are pleased with the results.

I had a problem with mice, which I'm seriously afraid of. I called a few companies and Orkin is the only one that responded quickly and would send someone out the day I called. I'm on a contract with them now and the technician, Chris, comes every two months. He's fantastic! He knows how scared I am so makes sure to check everywhere. He does an inside and outside check for them and other pests. I'm still having occasional problems with the m-word things, but have been able to close up just about all entry points, with a space at the bottom of the garage door remaining to fix.
Chris is always here when he says he will be, and calls the day before each appointment day to verify. He's more careful of tracking dirt in than I am, and is courteous and professional at all times.
The B rating for price is simply because I was desperate when the problem started and went with Orkin because of their responsiveness, so didn't do any price comparisons.

I called this provider almost a year ago because we discovered that we had a mice problem in our basement. After a number of visits, we STILL have a mice problem. This provider cannot get down the bottom line to figure out where the mice are coming in the house. This is especially true when a heavy rain comes.
What's worse, after I specifically called to ask for help after finding 4 mice in my basement after a long rainy day (2 dead, 2 still running around), I was told the manager would call me in the afternoon. Well, I received no phone call and I was home all afternoon.
What is making me frustrated and legitimately angry is that I don't feel this provider is giving me the serious attention that this situation deserves. 4 (FOUR) mice entering the house. That's a problem, and they have had months--at least 10--to get this issue resolved, but they haven't. Yet, they like collecting my $89.00 bi-monthly payment.
I think it's time to look for another provider.

They have been coming here for years. I live in a forest with lots of insects, so they come in and do the whole house extermination. The thing I like the most is the fact that I have no insects after come. I had carpenter ants in the past and they took care of those as well. I will use them again in the future.
