We were extremely pleased with the quality of work by NR Builders. Our old Victorian home in Carnegie never has looked so good. Both friends and neighbors have complimented us on how nice our home looks. Nick (the owner) gave us the lowest price from 3 different estimates. The foreman of the crew(Frank) was very knowledgeable and professional. They worked efficiently, cleaning up after themselves daily and fulfilled the tasks listed in our contract. They even fixed a few extra items they they noticed needed repaired. The work did take a bit longer than anticipated but the work was done to our satisfaction.

I chose NR Builders because they were the only company I found that would tear off our old bug infested wooden siding with the vinyl siding we wanted. The siding job was well done though we are now having a bit of trouble with the trim around the windows. The edging on the replacement decking is pulling away and the composite material was installed too tightly and doesn't drain. We have had to drill holes in the decking to keep rain from pooling.
The biggest problem we have had is the second story walkway NR Builders installed only 10 years ago tilted and pulled away from the house. We call the owner, Nick, and he sent someone to inspect it. That person said it was a major problem and would require a major fix. We hired a structural engineer who told us the original way the deck was built showed shoddy workmanship. Nick didn't back his work as he originally said he would because it would have been too expensive. He offered to put in posts to bolster the deck for $6,700. That would not have passed any building inspection. We hired another company from Angie's List who tore off the walkway and replace it with one that will last as long or longer than the house lasts.

The work was acceptable. The price was between me and the contractor, it was reasonable and it was a tough concrete job. It's a limited area to work with but they did a pretty decent job. The owner is very knowledgeable and a pretty decent guy, I don't have anything bad to say about him, he was very good. The workmen were okay too. It was a tough job and not too many people want to accept it so they took it all in and they did it the best they could.
