About us

We have been in business since 1986. We specialize in Bathrooms and Kitchens both regular and specially designed for aging in place. We are licensed by the state Attorney General HIC#004275, member of the Home Builders Association and a Certified Lead Remodeler. We have Two divisions Shrom's Remodeling Inc and Help-U-Stay. Shrom's Remodeling does the regular kitchens and baths while Helpustay specializes in kitchens and baths for people with disabilities that might require walk in tubs and walk in showers or universal kitchens. We also do windows, doors, crown moldings, paint and especially our expert design service included in every job. Pleasant person, and assistant, but not exactly truthful on costs. They tried to hide the actual costs of the walk-in, and seems to have way overcharged for this. Got a bit sloppy and in a hurry at the end, and basically left the the site unfinished. This was agreed upon, but that was before I discovered the true costs.
Found it difficult to get a contractor to install a walk-in, and a local nursing home was aware of Shrom experience with specialty tubs.. If i could do this again I would have one delivered from Sears or Home Depot, then find someone to install it.

"In reviewing your original quote which stated the price of $8692 we put "NOTE: SRI is not including any painting or flooring repair /replacement as per request of home owner this is not a full bath remodel tub replacement only all other work to be done by others " We are a preferred vendor of all the local rehabilitation centers, Berks Encore and many others Our reputation for not only our work but how we leave the job each and everyday is well known and that is why we are requested. Ken has achieved his Certified Aging In Place Certification II by the National Home Builders Association. We have been featured in the Reading Eagle for helping people not only aging in place but with disabilities due to MS and ALHS. I am sorry Mr. Miller feels as though he had a disappointing experience, this is far from what we typically hear from our customers!!"
