"Thank you [Member Name Removed] for leaving a review. We were hired to stain [Member Name Removed]'s deck that had not been stained for quite some time. We informed her that it may take more than one coat of stain to accomplish the look she was expecting and that if we did need a second coat the bill would need to be adjusted accordingly. The deck did in fact require a second coat to even out the brush marks. [Member Name Removed] expected us to do the second coat for free even though we had advised her that the deck may need two coats. We did apply a second coat and reduced the bill substantially to help [Member Name Removed] with the costs. Thank you for your business. Doug"
"I would like to thank [Removed Member Name] for her business and for leaving a review on Angies List although she did not find our company thru this service. Handyman Matters is a time and materials company. [Removed Member Name] requested we fix a pain of glass in a door for her and we thought that repair may not fill up the first hour, so we suggested she find another task for our craftsman to help fill the hour minimum. She purchased a faucet to help fill the 1 hour minimum but changing out a faucet can take 1.5-2.0 by itself. She was not happy with our price because we did end up billing for approx. 2.5 hour to fix the glass and change the faucet out. I believe she wanted both tasks completed in the 1 hour minimum time frame. Thanks again for choosing Handyman Matters!!"
I gave them a C for professionalism, because I had to personally buy the paint and when they were rinsing out their paint brushes they left the water on, and I had to pay for the water bill.
"Many of our customers request buying their own materials to save money as this customer did, it is not our policy to require a customer to purchase materials. Our estimate was for one coat of paint and many of the rooms required a second coat due to the quality of paint that our customer purchased and choosing very light colors to cover existing dark colors. We are a time and materials company and our quote reflected this clearly. We are sorry this customer felt he was force to purchased materials, we gave him the option and that was the option he chose. Because we want to please our customer he was billed the quoted price to maintain good customer service."
