I needed a new sectional for my living room. I was looking for a very specific clean-lined, low-profile style to fit in with my mid-century modern 1950s decor, and it seems that this style is not very popular here in Berks County, therefore, most stores just don't have anything like that in their showroom. I went to Davids at first to check out the Stressless leather series by Ekornes (which is high quality but very very expensive), but their sales associate/designer Michele Masley came to help me out and quickly talked me out of getting leather since we have dogs. When I explained to her what I was looking for, she instantly understood exactly what I wanted and although they didn't have anything in the showroom that would work, she immediately pulled out several different manufacturer's catalogs and flipped the pages to several styles that would be perfect. We settled on the Dorset style by Rowe. Michele was very patient while we tried to pick a fabric that would be both appropriate to the style we wanted and that would hold up to doggie toenails. She made several phone calls to Rowe to make sure that our choices were in stock and even tracked down a fabric we had seen on Rowe's website that we wanted for our accent pillows. She always followed up with a phone call to me as soon as she got answers. She was helpful in deciding the layout of the sectional pieces and how we would put pieces together to function with our entire room layout. She offers design services as well and although we didn't use them, she would have come to our house to see our layout and figure out a design for us. The custom order was expected to take about 6 weeks and it arrived within that time frame. Since we spent a certain amount of money, delivery was no extra charge. The delivery guys were very careful with the furniture and with our doorway, hall, and flooring - they laid down blankets every step of the way and wore booties over their shoes so as not to scratch anything or track in any dirt, and they assembled and positioned it for us. We spent a little extra (I believe just over $100) to buy the 10-year warranty, which includes stain and fabric protection. Rowe also offers a lifetime guarantee on the cushions for no extra charge- if they ever lose their shape, they will replace them. We're thrilled with the quality of the piece, it was made in Virginia rather than China, and it was a great price as compared to similar, but lower quality sectionals I've seen from other retailers online. I would highly recommend Davids to anyone in the area.
