We met LBMR folks at a log home show in Pittsburgh, PA, and arranged for a visit and estimate. LBMR team lead, Ethan, came to our log cabin in Berkeley Springs WV (they travel large distances due to type of work) and tried to determine the type of existing finish, but wasn?t sure. Recommended either trying high pressure wash to remove old dark failing stain or use glass bead blasting. We chose blasting to ensure removal and starting with fresh wood. We were also getting roofing redone and he recommended LBMR act first to avoid risk of blasting new aluminum trim. Office staff (Mitzi) were great to deal with and very helpful in arranging work date, stain color, etc. Workmen (Ethan team lead, and Matt) were very knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and hard working. It took 8 days (including two weather rain out days). They kept us involved beginning to end on decisions, preferences, etc. They re-cycled the blasting media collected on tarps they put down after the media was seived. Did a good clean up job. Asked us to look for any ?punch list? items/requests and completed all. We?re very pleased with the much more natural wood tone and finish appearance. They recommended cleaning with hose or pressure wash twice a year (Spring/Fall) and a possible addtional top coat in 3-5 years depending on sun exposure, appearance, and water resistance.
