Our experience with American/Hungerford, subcontracted thru Mione Family Remodel Inc. for gutter repair and replacement, was completely negative. The spouting itself was a good quality, but the installation was a disaster. Workers were not told about the extent of work to be done on our older home and were leaving after only half the job had been completed. The pitch of the new spouting actually caused water to back up and overflow out of the wrong end of the spouting on two sides of our house creating a drainage problem next to the foundation. The company manager refused to take responsibility for the installation mistakes and refused to fix the problem they caused without additional charges to us. His excuse was that the pitch of older homes is different from newer homes and they shouldn't have to use a level or run water in the spouting to test which way the water will drain. We had to pay an extra $600 to fix their mistake. We will never again deal with this company, either directly or through subcontracting their services.

I called to get a price quote and the estimator, Darren, gave me the quote over the phone based on the dimension and other details that I supplied. The price was excellent - lower than what it would have cost me to do it myself. A few weeks later, I called back to arrange the service. After trying to contact the estimator multiple times, we finally chatted and he arranged an appointment to confirm the work. On the day of appointment, the estimator never arrived at my house. I called his cell phone 4 times and left a message twice in case he was lost. The next day, I called the office and explained what had happened, thinking there was something wrong... but no, nothing was wrong and the company didn't seem concerned that the estimator never kept his promise. Since then, I called twice with no avail... I guess my job is not important to this company. At this point, even if they called me, I would be leary to have them do the work because my trust level is minimal.

Called and asked for an estimate. They set the time anddate for Friday at 9 am and then they never called or showed up. I called at 9:35 and told them I was no longer interested in service that they provide based on their inability to keep,the inital appointment.

The job went very well. It rained the day I was scheduled to have the work done. The salesman called early that morning to re-schedule. They do not like to do an occupied house when it is rainy, as the hoses can get muddy. They came the next day as scheduled, and the job was done neatly in less than 1/2 hour.

Call for an estimate. Quick response. Estimate was $280 under material cost for me to do this myself. The guys showed up with two different trucks - blowers first. In and out within 45 min. The batters were next. I was not home when they performed the work but was informed they were here about an hour. Darren thoroughly explained the different types of insulation and options I had. I am VERY satisfied with them and will use them again for more work if needed.
