Ken arrived promptly . He stated that the repair was too expensive for our dryer and recommended that we purchase a new one .

I sit here shaking my head because while I know how it went there's no way to prove out what the truth is. I'd asked a friend who'd she recommend for appliance repair and gave me this name saying he was so honest. Marmer said the cost to fix her appliance was too much and recommended she buy a new. She raved about how wonderful and honest he was because he didn't charge her enormous fees to repair knowing it was fruitless. Instead, he just charged her for the house visit... My washer wasn't spinning and I like honest vendors so I called Dan Marmer who was responsive and came out at the agreed upon time. Nice enough guy. He was here for about 20 minutes, pulling the shell off the washer and said the cost would be too much to fix and recommended I buy a new one. The cost for coming to the house was $79.50. And I did buy a new one at $800... A week later a had a dinner party. A different friend saw the sticker Dan gave me with the company name and phone number. We compared notes and the same thing happened to him. Marmer came over and again, the repair cost was prohibitive and charged him for time... Now, what is the truth here? I really don't know. Out of the three of us, were our machines really that costly to repair?.. OR, did the repair man step in for 1/2 hour, look around a machine, charge $80 for his time, walk out and call it a day?.. Coincidence? You decide.

Excellently. Dan Marmer was prompt to schedule an appointment with me. He was on-time and very professional in his explanation to me with what the issues were with my dryer. Dan was clear with what work needed to be performed. He fixed the issues in under two hours, and my dryer is now working perfectly. I found the price to be very reasonable, and recommend Marmer electric.

We have used Dan Marmer over the years for a number of appliance repair jobs. We very much appreciate that Dan tells us like it is - he doesn't waste our money fixing somthing that would be better off replaced. If he recommends that pass on repairs, he offers suggestions and helps identify suitable replacements to meet or needs. When he does repairs, they are done thoroughly and quickly and always fairly priced. It is of paramount importance to trust someone performing repairs. We have full faith in Dan Marmer.

He was really great. We called him on Monday and he said he would call at 7:30 AM the next day to tell us what time he would be over. He called right at 7:30 and said he would come at 11:00. Right at 11:00, there he was! He knew immediately what was wrong with our dryer, fixed it, and cleaned it out too. He was so expert at what he was doing, we watched him so we could learn more about the dryer. The dog watched too! He didn't mind a bit. We said we were thinking about buying a new washer and dryer, and he freely gave his opinions on which brands were best. He has a lot of knowledge and experience and that was evident as he was doing the job. Overall, a great repair job and a pleasant conversation!

I called him on a Monday, he called back that night and said he could come out on Wed. Everything wass et,and then Tuesday the oven began having problems, so I called him back to ask him to add it to the service call. At that time he said he had a change and could come on Tuesday. Great!

Ken let me know that my washer and dryer were 25 years old and had a number of problems that were safety hazards. I appreciated him being honest that the dryer really was not worth trying to fix. He pointed out a few items that needed to be brought 'up to code' before we installed a new dryer, even though these were items that he himself was not able to fix for us. He also gave me recommendations on good washer/dryer sets to look at. I appreciated him taking the time to explain everything to me even though it didn't mean any additional work for him. Ken seemed like a very honest guy with great customer service. I would definitely trust him and use him again in the future.

The Good
This is the second time I have used Ken Marmer. He arrived on time an date promised. I detailed the problem he went about investigating. I also asked him to look at our washer as my wife was having issues with it as well. He took the washer apart and looked at it.
The Bad
The dryer was at end of service life (20+ years) and the washer had the two most expensive parts to replace unrepairable. He was very willing to repair the washer but advised that the cost to do so would undoubtedly exceed cost to replace.
The Good
He only charged for his service call, he made suggestions as to what type of washer and dryer were good value. Hopefully we'll get as long a service life from the new washer and dryer

Ken Marmer was so good and I loved him. He was really good. The job went very well. He was very quick and knew what was wrong right away. He was great. The service cost wasn't much and it was reasonable. He was dependable and came right away and he was right on time. I would use him again in a heartbeat if necessary.

Ken is very professional from start to finish. He assessed the problem, was able to order the out of date part, and returned to install the coil. It was easy, and that's what I want.

My dryer was not getting hot. I called Ken on a Saturday and left a message. He returned my call within a couple of hours. During that time period my dryer started working again so I told him I didn't need repair service after all. However, the next day (Sunday), my dryer wasn't working again. I called and left another message. Since Monday was a holiday, Ken returned my call at 7:15 am on Tuesday. He was at my house by 8:45 am to repair my dryer.
Ken was knowledgeable and professional and had the problem diagnosed and fixed in a short amount of time. He even fished out the spare change that was rolling around in the dryer drum.
Great experience. I would highly recommend him.

Left message for Mr. Marmer on a Thursday morning and he called back that afternoon, asking for a description of dryer problems, which I gave to him. He said that someone had cancelled an appointment for early the next day and asked if I'd be interested in it, which I was. Mr. Marmer arrived promptly the next day and asked me to review the dryer issues as we walked to the basement. He got right to work checking things out, replacing some kind of small module with wires attached, saying that it was a known problem of a bad design with my model dryer. He took the exhaust panel off in the back which revealed a huge wad of lint, which he removed. He also replaced the bendable exhaust tube from the dryer to the outside of the house, whcih also held a good deal of lint. He also vacuumed the exhaust port in the wall, from both inside and out the house, discovering that the local wildlife had been story acorns in it. When he was finished, all issues were resolved. As we walked upstairs, I mentioned that I also had a dishwasher issue where it wasn't draining completely and he replied that since he soon had to depart for his next appointment, he could take a look at it, but might have to return to repair it if he discovered anything he couldn't handle quickly. He did a quick check and said that the drain line was clear and the pump appeared to functioning normally. He bottom lined it - the thing was 20 years old and that we should not overload it and switch from liquid to powder detergent to prevent foaming, which could impede draining. We took his advice and haven't had any problems since. This was a good experience.

I got Ken's name from Angie's List and called him on Monday morning. He returned my call within 2 hours and because of a cancellation he was able to come right over. He diagnosed my problem immediately but had to order a part from the manufacturer. Because of my schedule he couldn't come back until Thursday. He arrived promptly at the arranged time, completed the job within 45 minutes, put everything back in place and cleaned up after himself. He was prompt, professional, helpful and I thought his price was reasonable. I would definitely use his services again.

He is very good. He works alone and is independent. He is very honest - if something is not worth repairing, he tells you. If you are looking for a new appliance, he would give suggestions about a good and bad product. His prices are fair.

The washing machine was making a strange noise so I contacted Mr. Marmer who promptly returned my call within the hour. He made an appointment the same day. He arrived on time and quickly discovered the problem. He did not have the part on hand but he immediately located the part for the next day and replaced the belt. He ensured that the washing machine was functioning properly and was very professional and helpful.

Ken responded promptly to our phone call, arrived within a few hours, diagnosed the problem with the dryer, gave us the estimate for parts and labor, made the repairs and vacuumed the dryer and exhaust duct.

Ken was extremely prompt in responding to our urgent need for a repair. We called Friday morning and he had come out and fixed the washer by that afternoon. He also offered lots of good advice on avoiding future problems.
