I have used L&R security for several residential properties over the last 15 years or so and I’ve never been disappointed! I recently bought a restaurant and had L&R install a full state of the art security system with 8 HD cameras and it has been a blessing in so many ways! We contracted with L&R Security over 30 years ago to secure our former home. Our system and the service we received along with it were so superb that we hired them again 2 1/2 years ago when we moved to a new home. I researched several companies to get quotes to install security cameras. After contacting a few local companies, and searching on Angie's List, I decided to L&R a try since they provided good quality cameras at a reasonable price. It took two visits since one of the units they ordered didn't arrive as expected. Ray and his sons came out to get everything installed and programmed, and gave a quick tutorial on using the phone app to monitor the system. Although we found one camera that stopped working, they quickly responded with a replacement unit to resolve the problem.

L&R came in quickly to setup a brand new system. They spent most of the day here but we quiet and cleaned up when they were finished. I am very happy with everything they installed!

Excellent! We had a pre-existing alarm system in our home that was not working properly. Ray and his son quickly diagnosed the problem. They were able to fix the problem quickly and at a very reasonable price.

We we found their name on Angie's List along with a few other alarm companies they had the most reasonable price. Ray Junior came out to our house and after going over our needs suggested an alarm system that we are now very happy with. The system is customizable to our needs. It allows us different zones to be turned off and on as necessary. They were very professional and I would recommend them.

Ray is absolutely fabulous.  He is super responsive, very thorough, very professional and a delightful human being.  He was very good at staying within our budget, no surprises between his estimate and payment time.  He was detailed, hardworking and punctual.  The system is working great, no glitches.  He follows up and is over the top concerned about customer service and satisfaction.  I got his name from Angie's List and he didn't disappoint.  I HIGHLY recommend him.

Ray helped us understand what we needed for our unique situation. System was installed with no mess and workmen were absolutely prompt and efficient. They came back a week or so later when the system needed tweaking.

Really well; the company was able to wire everything as originally planned. The installation was completed in 2 days; we tested the system for 3 days, and we have had no trouble with it at all. The installation involved very little mess or inconvenience and we are delighted with the results. We would recommend L & R to anyone looking for a sophisticated security system that operates in an astonishingly simple way.

Our review of L&R is tied to the equipment it sold to us, so first a word about the system.  We contacted L&R after several cars in our neighborhood were broken into.  We wanted to cover the driveway with a security camera, particularly at night.  L&R recommended either a High Resolution or the more expensive High Definition system.  Because of the better resolution, we chose the 4-camera Hi-Def product so we could cover the driveway as well as entire exterior of the house.  While the cameras are great during the day, at night there is a serious problem.  The nighttime image from the camera on the driveway has a large donut in the middle of the picture.  This severely interferes with the ability to recognize anyone in our driveway at night.  We have since learned that this is called the ?halo effect? and is a well known problem with infrared security cameras.  It is not manufacturer specific. It?s a problem caused by the bounce back from the infrared light the cameras use at night.  When I contacted the supplier?s technical support line, they said that they receive this complaint hundreds of times on all varieties of cameras.  Its either caused by a defect in the camera or its placement.  We?ve tried several cameras at that location so its not the camera.  There are no lights on outside and it does not matter whether the moon is full or even if there is a car in the driveway at all. 
My first criticism of L&R is that they should have known that this is a common problem.  They were well aware of why we bought the camera and should have tested a few locations to see whether this was going to be a problem before drilling holes in the exterior of my house. 
My second criticism of L&R is that I gave them an opportunity to move the camera. Yet, despite agreeing that they would come out and experiment with a few new locations before drilling even more holes in my house, they changed their mind at the last minute.  Instead, they simply re-aimed the camera a few feet up the driveway.  When I asked why they did not do what we had agreed, they said that they ?really did not want to move the camera.?  Having rearranged my and my wife?s schedules twice to accommodate L&R, their decision to come to my home and pointlessly re-aim the camera is unacceptable.    
L&R is good at running wires and returning emails.  But in the end, the $1800 security system they sold to us does not work for the reasons we bought it.
