The work by Gold Painting was excellent. The exterior painting of my house exceeded my expectations! Guillermo met with me, discussed with me, in detail, what I wanted and reviewed the preparation and painting to be done. He sent me the estimate which was highly competitive. The preparation was done very well; exactly as described. The painting was done with care, and uniformly excellent. If you are in a great hurry, this may not be the company you want. I have proudly shared pictures of the work with family and friends. The workmen were gentlemen. The cleanup was beautiful. I am completely satisfied. I regard the job done by Gold Painting the highest of compliments. The job was done with Integrity.

Everything went great.  The job took a long time only because the amount of work done was significant.  Wood surfaces were scraped/powerwashed, especially the window trim and fascia.  A lot of our exterior wood surfaces were in disrepair and now look almost new.  We are very happy with the work and are consulting with Guillermo about some other work.

Just terrible.  Guillermo was dishonest.  I am a 65-year-old woman living by myself, not much knowledge of home repairs and painting.  And I try too hard to be nice to workers.    Guillermo took full advantage of this to line his own pockets.  Gave me a color wheel from Benjamin Moore, but used MAB paint (cheaper).  This was in tiny print on the contract, but he did not point it out until I complained.  Used second-rate cracked boards to finish new doorway into den.  Did not use the shades of white I picked for all woodwork, rather, used several cans of leftovers I guess from other jobs, in different shades (one shade in each room, so I would not notice).  He prepared the plaster walls for painting but did not prepare woodwork (just a little scraping, no sanding).  Paint on window frames began peeling after a year, now down to bare wood in spots.  No preparation on greasy wood-paneled kitchen walls, now peeling.  I had to tell him to use TSP on the kitchen cabinets or he would not have done this either.  I did not see much of this at first because whole house was draped in plastic and dusty, so I had to leave during the day.  He volunteered his men to do all kinds of jobs they did not know how to do.  When pulling up carpet, I had to tell them myself to use a block of wood to brace the crowbar and protect the floor, after I saw gouges they made in the upstairs hallway floor.  Guillermo said the job would take two weeks, but it took five weeks.  He was working on three jobs at once, and many days only one man was at my house, the least experienced.  He offered to refinish the floors downstairs after carpet was removed and we found stains.  Crumby job, did not removed stains.  I had to have them redone later.  He reluctantly returned the $1200 he charged for this.  Guillermo also tried to overcharge me for the whole job.  Every few days he asked for more money, saying he needed to pay the men.  Then let me add it all up at the end.  I made a $2000 mistake in his favor.  He only returned it reluctantly when I finally figured it out.  The workers were nice, all Costa Rican immigrants without much English.  They were very hard working and polite, just did what they were told by the boss.  I did not figure out Guillermo's angle until the end.  He told me his touching story of coming from Costa Rica without a word of English, and working his way up.  I fell for it, especially since some neighbors (with husbands to watch out for things) thought he was great.

Guillermo came to my rescue when I was stood up by another painter.  I got one other estimate and Gold Painting's  was about one third of that one.  I had not planned on doing the master bath remodel but Guillermo provided a reasonable update to an out of date bathroom and took care of getting the custom countertop.  I ordered a ready made vanity from Home Depot which arrived damaged.  Guillermo was with me at the store and said he could repair the vanity and helped me negotiate a substantial discount from Home Depot for the damage.  He then was able to repair and customize it to fit the space.
His crew were very friendly and did a wonderful job with the painting.
Guillermo even helped me put  a spare tire on my car when I hit a pothole and blew my tire on the way to Home Depot.
I would definitely use them again.

These were the only painters that were willing to strip to bare wood. Their price was a bit higher than the rest but the quality and value were all there.  They laid out the details and did what they were supposed to. They asked me to check the work, and when a few things were not perfect they happily went back and fixed them.

The Gold Painting Company is without question the best painters I have ever seen and ever used.

They are literally in a class by themselves – in my opinion - without peers in the Philadelphia area.

I first became familiar with their work when my next door neighbors had their house painted by this company last year.

In observing how extremely meticulous, exacting, and thorough they were in prepping and painting my neighbor’s house, it was obvious to me that Gold Painting is a very special company.

This year, when it came time for my own home (a 1922 Tudor) to be painted, I knew that I wanted no one other than Gold Painting to do the work.

I was not disappointed and believe I got an exceptional paint job.

One of the things that ‘sold me’ on Gold Painting was that they were willing to strip all of the Tudor half timbers and all of the fascia boards on the house down to bare wood.

Over the 90 years that have passed since my house was built, it has been painted countless times, leading to a buildup of paint that has caused peeling problems in the past.

Gold Painting eliminated this problem by stripping much of the exterior wood (windows and eaves not included except at additional cost) down to bare wood before painting.

I expect their paint job to last many years – and far longer than if I had hired any other company.

They simply do the best job possible by attending to the minutest details, and by painstakingly doing the job correctly, without cutting corners, and by using premium paint.

I also had Gold painting remove and replace some rotten exterior wood in my house before painting, and their carpenter did a wonderful job.

The painters, the supervisor, and the owner were all extremely professional, pleasant, and receptive to my own input,  to the point
that I felt we were ‘collaborators’ on this project.

Gold Painting is committed to 100 percent customer satisfaction, which is what I received.

I give Gold Painting the very highest rating possible.

Guillermo is rude. Well I now have more paint on my window frames than my windows, I also have oil base primer on the polished chrome trim in my kitchen that I did not have before, despite being told by the painter that it was there before! Unfortunately I have pictures to prove otherwise!

Guiemero gave us a detailed quote that contained options for additional work such as stripping paint down to the wood (soffits, windows, shingles, porch ceiling, etc).  In the beginning, we didn't expect to add so many options but when we saw how impeccable the work was, we kept adding the options.  This resulted in the overall cost being higher than originally planned but we are extremely please with how the work turned out.  The new paint job has really improved the look of the house.  Everything looks so clean and now which is amazing for a 100+ year old house.  We would definitely recommend Gold Painting!

I initially got quotes from 4 different companies. The prices were all comparable, within $1,000 of each other or less than 10%, so my decision was not based on price. Gold seemed to offer the most comprehensive job. They were the only company to include primer and two coats of paint in their quote. The other quotes were for primer where needed (?) +one coat of paint or two coats of paint with no primer. They also sanded back to bare wood the sections of the trim where the old paint was completely peeling off and the sun damage was most visible. This was not offered by any of the other 3 firms.
The house hadn't been painted in 12 years, so the amount of work that needed to be done was significant. The job took about 3 1/2 weeks from start to finish. We had a bit of a delay due to rainy weather and a conflict/overlap with another job, but that was quickly resolved once I expressed my concern about the delay. The workers were very polite and professional. Guillermo, the owner, made sure any issues we had during the process were resolved quickly and to my satisfaction.
I recommend this company and would use again, although I hope not to need their services for another 12 years!

I have hired Gold Painting twice, several years apart. The first was to paint the exterior of the house. The team worked long hours, totally removed many coats of pealing paint, and repainted exterior which looked great. All the people who worked were pleasant, professional, and extremely hard working. The finished paint job was wonderful. In 2010 I had Gold redo/replace damaged plaster walls and ceiling and replace with drywall, then paint a bedroom. Same wonderful service. The team took great care so that removing plaster did not cause a mess elsewhere in the house. Again all members of the crew were pleasant and professional to have in my home. They worked very hard and did a wonderful job. The head, Guerrmo, was very professional and pleasant to work with. A great experience both times. In 2012 the team again did a smaller exterior job painting trim after windows were replaced. Same great company to work with.

Guiellermo (the owner) met with me quickly for the initial estimate, and was ready to do the job nearly immediately.  He is present every day of the job and supervises everything.
The painters are polite and friendly, no problem at all to have in your home.

I had some trouble picking a color for my Master bedroom; Guiellermo was patient through eight color samples!

When additional work was needed (putting up new medicine cabinet, light fixtures), that was no problem, they are very handy.

I was very impressed when I called Guiellermo a week after the job was done because the paint finish in the Master Bathroom was too matte (Aura bath and spa is a matte finish).  He suggested putting on eggshell finish; I got the paint and he had someone back within a few days to put that paint on at no charge.
Very accommodating, very eager to work, a pleasure to work with.

I had a great experience from start to finish. The owner, Guillermo, was punctual in returning my initial call and even came by later that day to start on the estimate. Within a couple of days I received a very detailed professional written estimate and contract. He gave me time to consider the estimate and offered to come by any time to answer any questions I might have. He was very professional through the entire job, keeping me updated each day on their progress. Phone calls were returned very quickly. The crew was wonderful- punctual, respectful of my property and my time, and they worked very hard. I was very pleased that they took care around my numerous flower beds and plants around the house which was a big concern of mine. I don't think I lost a single plant. Their work was excellent. I am pleased with the finished look of my home and plan to have them back again soon for interior painting. I felt the price was fair for the amount of work involved. I was given a higher estimate which involved stripping down to bare wood on the entire house but it was not in my budget at the time. The price stated above included sanding and scraping a considerable amount of loose and peeling paint, priming , and painting. I feel that I got what I paid for.

These were young men, starting out on their own as offshoot of another company. They were very fast and thorough. We scheduled about a month in advance, and they came and did it and went away in four days. Did not mess up my gardens very much, used tarps and ladders very carefully. The job has held up well for 3 years now.
